Just listening now, but the horse sounds a much bigger deal this time. It's your horse, that you need to build trust with, and it can die.

And then you get a new horse, like any other game with a horse.
    You're dead inside.

Not sure what to make of the news on the front page. Standard, special and ultimate editions and a collectors box featuring a collection of tat without the game.

I'm waiting on the GAME exclusive ultimate special edition with pre order DLC! But in reality I'll probably get the standard edition at a later date.

    ...that they will
A: Charge double, due to "accidental mixup"
B: Go bust, without returning your money/make it hard for you to get money back

It still amazes me how the get the Special, special editions. I will end up getting from Amazon.
Onto the actual game, I really hope we get a good and lengthy campaign. I am worried that most of the focus has been put into RDRO, as this is where Rockstar are going to make their millions/billions back.

Indeed, look at GTAV- it’s the flame to which their monetisation moth will absolutely be pulled with Read Dead Redemption 2. I kinda hoped we’d pulled back from the worst of it and were in a more “cosmetic only” phase now in gaming, but they’ve probably the cache and the IP to get away with it.
Hate that side of modern gaming, just hoping it doesn’t intrude too much on the core single player vanilla offering.

It won't affect the single player and the shooting mechanics are so shit in rockstar online games that I don't bother with them. There will be more than enough game In the SP to justify the price, the other editions can fuck off though.

I can't wait for the announcement that it's online only.

    Exactly.

Houser Brothers are writers. They according to the peoples hero Leslie Benzies didn’t give a toss about online in GTA V. It was Leslie behind the online. He was behind the shark cards. But gets painted as some sort of good guy.

You’d think they would just be releasing online trailers and not story trailers if they didn’t care about story.

People need to chill out. Let the game come out and then judge.

By the looks of it the online won’t even be ready for launch.

Yup. If history has taught us anything, the special edition "Story" missions will by about 10/15 minutes of content that would have been cut anyway.

Yeah it's a shit trend - from decent single player dlc in RDR and GTA4 to none in GTA 5 to the game being parceled out before release with RDR2.

Yeah game should be big enough with standard edition and screw eveything else, but future doesn't look bright when they can make more money selling kids online tat.

So glad I got off the 'Collectors Edition' bandwagon. Selling games without the actual game. So fucking stupid.

To be fair to Rockstar, they do eventually make all of the exclusive DLC available for people to buy separately if they want to. It's just a question of when you fork over the cash to play it.

I was all set to make this a rare day one purchase but talk of multiple editions and special edition content has really thrown a wet blanket over my enthusiasm.

Rockstar used to be one of the good guys before GTA Online took off.

Eh?! There's no game? What? This doesn't compute.

They said it's so that people can make the choice about having a physical or digital copy themselves.

Which I can see the logic of, but it's still a bit odd; selling something without the main attraction being present.

The only logic I can see is wanting to separate a fool from his money for what is essentially a bit of tat.

Having loads of fun playing RDR on ps3 for the first time. I completed twice in 360 upon release but other than mp over the last year I have not played the story.

Only a few hours in remember bits but either forgotten others or did not do (Strangers etc) even enjoyed Liars Dice. The world and characters hold up extremely well.

The only negative is the control of JM and Horse. Rockstar get a lot of deserved praise, however they have a history of shite controls. The turning circle in this is terrible. Rather like the AC series, if you do not line up an entry into a building, you will take several attempts to get in!!! I'm sure, or rather hopeful at least that the avatar controls better in 2

The ps3 is incredibly washed out in comparison to the 360. Back then all R* games run better on Xbox.

Back then pretty much all multi platform games ran better on the 360.

If I was playing RDR for the first time in 2018 I'd veer strongly to the X version. 4k, locked 30, better texture filtering. I thought you had an X?!

So it’s only 180 quid for the ultimate edition and ‘collectors box’. What a tempting deal

@DUFFMAN5 Not quite, GTAV ran and looked better on PS3 😁

But you're right about Red Dead on PS3, was like someone smeared vaseline on the screen of the 360 version
