What with the new forum (very blue) theres an update to EuroFix, while a lot of the things that encoraged it have been removed, I like the functionality it provides, as I've gotten used to gray links now.

    Heres what's new:

    - Remove Main Navigation box from side of the Forum
    - Changes orange links colour (user defined color)
    - Stretch forum content across whole screen
    - Enable/Disable the various functions via FireFox/Extention options

you can download it from here.

    Have fun.

I've gone for the nice #8080FF pastel blue for my links.

Shame the search and {double greater than sign} go to page X of Y are images and so stay blue.

Anyway, great job. As I view EG with images off at work (using phone, saving the bandwidth) the left bar is just a mess of text on dark grey and the right advert doesn't show at all (either an image or flash, which I intentially don't install) so making the forum full width is just what I need.

/watches podtwo slowly subvert the new design :)

Ah, well spotted, if you reinstall it (v0.5a now) you should now notice that they are now lovely gray (or whatever colour you pick).

Raups is obviously doing a DoS attack as we speak :)

    Ok, they're not images

/researched that bug report very very badly

And while we're talking about fixes the website still says it'll change links from Orange.

    -A coder's nightmare :)

Anyone got this working with Mozilla?

If I click on install, it tells me it's installing it over Eurofix 0.1 (I actually have Eurofix 0.2), but that I need to restart the browser to complete it.

I restart, and I don't seem to have Eurofix installed at all any more. So I try to install it again, but no such luck.

I have a nose round in my profile's chrome directory, and it looks like I've still got Eurofix 0.2 in there. I assume I can't just drop the EuroFix 0.5a jar file over it - there's something else I need to do to make it 'installed', I guess.

Calling it EuroFix is quite offensive really. It should be called EuroThief :)

Heh, fair call. I just used it to make EG more work-safe. Got rid of those dangerous looking orange links.

Now I just want to put that left sidebar somewhere else. Getting fed up of scrolling an inch to the right every time I refresh!

I've uninstalled it, can't stand the short delay before the page width readjusts.

I never had any problems like that, and im not sure what whould be causing it, the only think I can think of is that you've not totaly restarted yourbrowser, I might be worth starting firefox up in safe mode and checking to see if you can uninstall it from there.

Otherwise I'd un-install and reinstall (deleting the directory inbetween) and see if that fixes it.

Or replace Mozilla with Firefox :)

Yes that is very annoying, tho it kind of depends on how quickly the page is loaded, I've been looking into that, Ive been investigating adblock and that seems to re-write the page before its rendered, rather than the current method where its rewritten after the rending stage..

thats my next big goal (for v1.0)
  • Deleted user 11 May 2005 12:50:58
    Impressive, podtwo! \o/

Maybe fiddling with the extension order helps? Eurofix first in chain, before Adblock?

That delay is annoying, but I only get it when going from the mainpage to the forum, not when browsing the forum itself... which can live with.

I feel a bit guilty using it, though...

Very cool extension, how did you remove the content on each side? I assume it's using #include statements...are they removed and then reloads a copy of the page without?

I remember posting something, for IE users, before to have a similar effect but uses it removes elements from a page. Would use it to strip away images and be left with the plaintext version of a review...though in hindsight, I could have copied and paste it.

Here it is, click on the Remove Children. To use it on another sites, bookmark the link to the Remove Children and open that link on what ever site :)

    edit: typo

That just takes me back to your site.

Is this some sort of ploy to gain more hits?

Lol, not at all, I assure you. That site is an old project of mine that used to keep me occupied. You need to click the link to Remove Children once in the site....I can't link to it directly, you understand, as it's a javascript function and EG won't allow me to linkify it :-P
