It was good, intelligent chat about the hobby we love.

Which is what is was last time. So why keep relaunching it? Just stick with it this time.
That all happened before I joined the team, so I'm not entirely sure what happened. But! I'm hosting/editing/publishing this podcast and so it'll be my responsibility this time. It's sticking around, promise :)

We don't generally see the editorial team engaging with us unwashed forumites. More dialogue between the two is welcome. Especially in this era of social media back and forth.

Whatever happened to Johnny Minkley, he was cute

If you put out an hour of Christian Donlon telling witty anecdotes every two weeks, then I'll keep listening.

(First pod was good, needs some opening/closing music though. Plus I don't think you actually introduced yourself Bratterz!)

Heh. Yeah, he didn't. I spent the first few minutes thinking "Hey, Champo's accent is WAY different compared to the last pod".

Edit - I really enjoyed the episode tho. Great job. More of the same please.

Haha, oh gosh you're right. That's embarrassing!

And yeah we're looking into sorting some decent music - we just didn't want to use something awful as a placeholder in the time being.

    Nice first podcast.

Nice to absorb myself in video games without getting wound up by the comments section.

    Keep it up!

I quite liked it, much like the crate and crowbar podcast but more to the point.

Don't dump a load of music in, it's just more airtime to skip over.

@Bratterz Any chance of, in your next podcast, talking more about the business side of EG as a company? Specifically how in review, dropping scores and going to a badge system has affected your readership and as a consequence ad revenue? Has the videos channel on youtube begun to pull in enough views that the dividends from the adverts there are having an impact? Are there any regrets with the new direction, or do you feel like you're in a premier position with the site as is? And is there to be anything new for EG in 2016 that we readers can look forwards to that you could hint at?

@Rivuzu I'm not sure how fun/appropriate it would be to talk about the 'business side of EG' on the podcast - if we do, it would have to be when Oli is involved.

That being said, we were asked about the impact of dropping review scores during the EGX podcast last year. Here's a link to Oli's response:

@Bratterz You could always break up the content with dick jokes and calling out/shaming of whatever nefarious personality/company is in vogue recently. :D?

Edit: Cheers for the link though, will check it.

I listened to this over the course of a few days but it was definitely a good sign i was interested enough to keep coming back to it. I will listen to the next few for sure.

Finally got round to it. Good listen, my only minor criticism was that I had to adjust the volume levels a few times. I listen to a few podcasts in the office and most have a constant level of sound, however I had to increase / decrease the volume a few times to hear one of you guys talking. Just teething problems to be expected I guess.

Good discussion though, look forward to more.

Really enjoyed the first episode. Thought you kept a good tempo going, keep it up and all that stuff.

Do I really need to bump a thread that's already stickied? Probably not. WHATEVER.

@Bratterz Does the podcast include the discussion of FILTHY STEALTH TACTICS in X-Com 2 multiplayer?

Also, we need to arrange a community vs EG Staffer team throw down.

If your still stuck for music on the next one then you could go with tradition and have everyone open their can of pressurised beverage. I think I heard a mid podcast "cushtt" on the last one Bramwell always used to open with that.

And Ellie used to end by yelling "hyphen" but I'm not sure anyone misses that.

Nice to see you have a run of two episodes now here's hoping you have many more.

You should commission Steffenson to produce some intro music.

Dunno about the "new" layout (10 years ago?) but with the original layout a sticky thread is the easiest way of getting a thread ignored.

I'd actually like to hear your thoughts about some forum posts/topics that you find interesting. I always see the staff online but I don't know if they dare enter the threads.

I just listened to the first two episodes last night and really enjoyed it. I like the friendly style and it's fun hearing people talk about something they (and I) love, although it made me wish I was there, too. It's a testament to your style that when listening to your podcasts and watching the EGTV show, I feel like I'm chatting with friends even though I'm saying nothing, really.

My wife now thinks you're a bad influence on me, as when listening to the second episode, I purchased XCOM2 and American Truck Simulator!

It's even worse on the 'new' style. No one goes into the eurogamer.net category.

Craigy really needs to crack on with that site redesign.
