For the first time since getting my Sky Q box, I am taking myself the time to learn about hidden tips and tricks. And totally astonished to discover that if you have lost your bluetooth remote somewhere, you can press the Q button on the Sky Q box itself, and the bluetooth remote will beep. Very cool.

Had sky q 6 months now, love it. They added voice recognition recently which is actually very handy. Only thing it's still missing is a customisable favourites menu. No issues with the tiny mini box upstairs either, which is totally silent.

We've had a problem with our Q box that three weekends in a row all the stuff we've recorded disappears and can't be viewed. It's fine during the week but weekends, gone.

I haven't bothered researching why. It used to be fine.

I can sense your indifference at the situation.
    Do you care?

It'd be nice to have it back. I've got both Raid films taped and have seen neither but really if we're in all weekend TV is vetoed by my girlfriend watching Friends.

I've had Sky Q since the end of April. Still getting used to the interface. Why the heck have they removed the favourite channels feature? The blue button doesn't even do anything on the remote. It's pretty annoying.

Also, someone above mentioned 4K. Are you paying extra for 4K content?

My Sky HD box has been misbehaving for a while now (needs rebooted fairly frequently).

My main objection to Sky Q is that it would entail an increase in my subscription - which I pay enough for right now. (There's also the issue that they financially dope the English Premiership to an insane degree and invest virtually nothing in Scottish football despite being an allegedly UK company).

I'd like a Sky Q box, if only it didn't open the hole in the Q every morning and require me to insert my cock and deposit a load into Murdoch's quiverying cheeks before it would work.

@mal Sky seem to have the 4k market sewn up at present. Virgin have zero 4k offerings. :(

I'll be nibbling on Murdoch's earlobe again soon, just gone for the Sky Q upgrade. £199 for the 4K box and 2 x mini boxes and only £12pm extra on the sub seemed like a decent deal.

Do not have a 4K TV and live in a tiny London flat. So the extra features Q offers do not benefit me.

    Son of a bitch!

So a month after I pay for upgrading hardware for Q. They launch the VIP rewards scheme. As platinum members what's one of the perks? Why yes free Sky Q set up. They knocked of the fibre setup at the time (apparently that's free now to! :) ) so it's not too bad but if I had waited a month

Oh well, got Go Extra for nothing and a free buy and keep so not bad I guess :)
Ring up and ask for that deal. Don't let them say no. Loyal customer, etc.

I literally got Sky Q this week and paid £115 for the privilege the robbing buggers!

Seems quite good so far though, makes the previous box (Sky+ HD) seem ancient

Saw this thread popped up again. In the end I gave up and got Sky to send out an engineer. They charged me £50 or so, but it turned out to be a bargain - he replaced not just the box, but the dish and all the cabling too. Essentially I ended up with a brand new installation. Happy days.

Iím due a free upgrade to Sky Q in a year or so, so Iím waiting for that. I donít (yet) have a 4K TV, so no rush.
