Spelunky. Everyone goes on about it like it's the best thing ever. £3.99 later, great fucking endless mazes. Indie games, they're not all exceptionally brilliant because they've been made on pittance! |

Registered 14 years ago@pacrifice Agree there, I felt Steamworld Dig and Rogue Legacy were better versions of Spelunky. -
Spelunky, Steamworld Dig and Rogue Legacy all made me want to throw my console in the bin, fucking insipid games. -
Steamworld dig I never liked. The spinoff Steamworld heist is great though. -

That's cheering. I loved the first two and can remember not wanting Arkham City to end, but then I played Origins and it was all wrong somehow. Didn't enjoy it and I'm not even sure I finished it.
I went into Arkham Knight expecting it to be the weakest in the series. It ended up being my favourite. I'd call it underrated if anything.
I thought that was weird - going from utterly loving one game to not even finishing the next. I thought it might have been familiarity so I've been avoiding Arkham Knight. But I bet it's just that Rocksteady didn't make origins.

Registered 9 years agoI don't get the hype behind Spelunky either?!?
However, I won't have a bad word said about Rocket League you scoundrel! -
Spelunky has near endless depth - depth to your own skills, depth to the variety of situations. -

Registered 9 years agoIt has basically endless replayability on account of the random generation elements. It's personally not my kind of thing (for the platformer elements, not the roguelike stuff), but it's still a quality, quality game. And has ever so much respect from me for bringing roguelikes into the mainstream. -
