You must be a delight at parties.
I certainly am. Delight here, delight there, delight everywhere.

Football fans fall under the umbrella of pre-schoolers.

Anyway, on topic I haven't visited Gametrailers since I watched some episodes of The Final Bosman last year. Youtube is just too big for a smaller platform to survive against at this point. A lot of popular content they hosted is now on Youtube, all the AVGN episodes for instance. You'd watch an episode or two of The Final Bosman and then what? You'd probably go to Youtube and end up staying there.

Is Patreon going to be enough to fund something akin to gametrailers? They say they need 50k per month to set up a new studio...

Well they've only had the Patreon set up for a few hours and they've got $7500 already.

I think they're going to be fine.....

That's the first Patreon I've funded. I really enjoy their event coverage and reviews, even if I don't care so much for the podcast stuff. Here's hoping this gets big enough for them to set up a proper company.

That's the beauty of Patreon, you don't need to set up another company - they will be completely independently funded through donations : no corporate bosses to answer to, no risk of takeovers or redundancies, etc.

You only need to look at Jim Sterling and Kinda Funny to see how powerful Patreon can be, I'm really happy the GT guys have got on board.

Now up to $8500 btw 😱

Sorry I didn't mean a company as in beholden to someone, I just mean as in a stable enough platform where they can run a sutdio, go to events, maybe even host events themselves. Like how Eurogamer has their own area in the business section of Gamescom and can run EGX etc
