No. Luke got shot an even amount of times. Wrong number of Porgs too.

Zelda is the main character in the games. You play Zelda. That's why they are called Legend of Zelda.

Can't believe people still get this wrong.

I like the turn (to the Dark Side) this thread has taken.

Back on topic, having had time for TLJ to settle in, I think I'm really starting to appreciate it more. Same as with Rogue One. Force Gets Up And Looks in the Mirror had me cos I had been waiting for something not shit for so long, and though it is just a rehash, I don't mind.

Hope any love interest stuff in ep9 is kept to side characters. We all know what happens when Jedis get horny... they turn to the dark side. Money on it that had Luke not figured out Leia was out of bounds, he'd have converted.

I watched it again yesterday, this time with my daughter. She went from grinning her little face off as each character came on screen to utterly bored during that first hour. Me too. It didnít get any better on the second viewing- if anything how messy and clumsy and confused the story telling was was thrown into even sharper relief.
Chop 2/3rds of the first hour out, neaten up the island visit, bin the whole code breaker thing- the person and the trip, get to the fucking action, make BB8 a regular robot again not some sort of A-Team recuebot, nullify Snoke somehow not snuff him out so easily, give Phasma a decent death and put Daisy Ridley in a Leia bikini.
    There- perfect film.

This. It's just Star Wars, not Three Colours Red, and that's how it should be. Personally I would've liked to know more about Snoke, but it's not like there is some overarching methodology to Star Wars that demands that film includes his back story. It's just a bit of cheeky space fun.

    Mace Windu's lightsabre was purple.

    Racist much?

Its a sickening display of sexism and racism.

Porgs are obviously symbolic rampant rabbits. Sick fucks.

Yeah, loved it first time but still needed to let it settle and think over stuff a bit, as it's basically a divorce flick for the Star Wars we've all known for 30+ years (or however old you are). Saw it 2 weeks later and enjoyed it even more, it's fucking brilliant.

I'm not expecting the Silmarillion but Snoke has literally nothing. Like no hints from anyone. He's just there, in charge and for some reason no one has bothered to explain it turns out the Empire won the war so we're all back to square one as far as the rebellion goes.

I just learned that thing about the Porgs being a fix for not being able to CGI out all the puffins on Luke's island today. Is that true?

What an adorable excuse for cashing in

    It's also complete bullocks.

You're not telling me that removing something is more expensive, than designing, adding and animating something new (which is alive).

Point in case at least a little. They removed something that's alive and replaced it with something that's alive (in this case the actor's upper lip, which is hard to do and it showed)

Replacing a puffin with a rock should be a vastly easier feat than a Porg or an upper lip.

But I'm taking this way too serious. Clearly they would've finished the puffin population by the end of the movie, if only to cut cost on catering.

Yeah, as above, it's way more difficult and costly to remove them. It's also a perfect cash cow for Disney.

You wouldn't need to replace all of them - just one or two to show close up. Then you can pretend that the blur of little penguin-looking things running around in the background are in fact porgs.

Well I'll be damned. Another thing learned. Thanks for the link. And yeah, you make a good point Mola. Hadn't realized the white blurs could've just been the original puffins.

Looks like CGI has advanced beyond what I assumed. I'll shut up now and just be a movie pleb.

The rule of two was a load of shit, wrote himself into a corner there. What made dooku suddenly see the dark side after Maul croaked it
