Registered 4 years agoEvery now and then i post a review on IMDb, spoiler free, no profanity, and they appear after a couple of days. When it came to my review of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, it failed to appear. I posted it a second time, again it failed to appeared. This left me thinking the worst, Disney have a hold on IMDb -

Also, I'm pretty sure it's the first non-porn website I ever visited, fact fans -

Registered 16 years agoYeah, the board's were the first time I ever came across a proper, proper mental online.
Some fucking fruitcake took it upon himself to ruin every thread on the new Battlestar Galactica board because Starbuck was a dude and it didn't have boxy in it. -

Registered 5 years agoThe saddest thing that exists on the internet are the Bond film trivia sections on IMDB, where some dedicated soul has gone through and included as many pointless nuggets of trivia regarding the number 7, just so they can display it as "007".
"This is the 007th film in the series that contains a reference to grapefruit" etc. -

Registered 17 years agoI sense a disturbance in The Force. Like an episode 9 trailer will be released before Xmas.
No not confirmed but as there is no Xmas Star Wars film, there’s now talk the teaser trailer will be released.
I would expect them to do this at celebration in Chicago next year but you never know. The way Disney are dropping trailers, it could happen. -

Registered 7 years agoSo he asked lucasfilm, they said he couldn’t do it but he did it. He didn’t check with anyone else involved in the rights.
Sounds like it’s his own fault for being a dick.
The editing on that video is annoying and jumpy as well. -

Registered 7 years agoHave I got this wrong then? I was under the impression he went to Disney prior to making it, asking the do's and don't. They said he couldn't monetize it and it couldn't be crowdfunded so he'd have to finance it himself, which he's done. Disney said they want no part of it but he's able to do it, then they turn heel and monetize it for themselves. No? -

Registered 7 years agoLooks like he’s had millions of views (and ad revenue) from all his other Star Wars related videos. Complaining to his regular viewers about Disney and Star Wars doesn’t seem the best plan. -

I know it's in a bit of a fucking state but don't you think we'd have seen a teaser for Ep9 by now? Or the title for it? -

Could be the title but this is normally followed by a teaser. -

Registered 15 years agoI wonder if they'll go for 3 OT remakes in a row. Though in fairness there's not a lot of options after the last film. -

Registered 18 years agoWasn't it?
I might have my OT memories jumbled up but it did hit some notes
* Jedi meeting master for training sesh on weird as remote place
* Said master being a weirdo
* Bond established between main Jedi and the main baddie
* Walkers on a white planet
* Said walkers attacking rebel base
* New rouge character betrays the good guys
Obviously theres a bunch of new stuff in The Last Jedi, but I think it falls into the same kind of remake as that re-heated pap Mr "I've no idea how to finish a story" Abrams released. -
I mean, the broad strokes of ESB and TLJ are basically the same with a little ROTJ thrown in in the throne room. Less obviously than TFA but it's still very similar.
We open with rebels narrowly escaping a secret base as the empire attacks. One protagonist goes off to train with a crotchety jedi master while the rest get engaged in a cat and mouse chase with the empire, eventually finding themselves drawn into a trap. However, the protagonist leaves their training early and mounts a rescue mission. They all escape at the end however their forces are largely depleted in a bittersweet ending.
The escapade to Canto Bight is the only bit that isn't really directly analogous to the OT IMO. Obviously the delivery of most of it is different, but the general direction of the story is the same, which is why I can't see 9 doing anything particularly different either. The SW universe is a mile wide and an inch deep and they seem to struggle to come up with anything genuinely new.
Which I don't really have a problem with, as long as the delivery of it is solid. Which I didn't find was the case with TLJ.
