Registered 18 years agoI can only echo what Not-a-reviewer said. They should have toned down the "let's give every single thing about Han Solo a backstory" bit.
Other than that I enjoyed it as a straight up space pirate film. It's hard to separate it from the Sw line of films though since I think that
a) the general knowledge of the universe (Empire bad) provided a nice backdrop
b) who would put that much money into a no name space pirate film in 2018? (no one that's who)
I think it shows the potential of telling stories in the SW universe that aren't necessarily about dealing fatal blows against the empire
I also absolutely HATED the lite "cameo" at the end. It makes me FURIOUS every time I think about it. FUUUUURIOUS! -

I hope it's shock full of cute creatures. -

Registered 17 years agoLooks as though some retail promo images have leaked. Some interesting things in there if they are legit. Some new characters, some new ships, some new stormtroopers and looks as though we’re finally getting The Knights of Ren. -

Registered 17 years agoIt’s the Episode 9 trailer today. Sometime between 4-5pm UK. It’s going to be...interesting.
Was watching one of writers of /Film on a YouTube show and he was saying things he’s heard about the trailer. Apparently it’s going to be divisive. Not messing around here.
J.J. is looking to not only close off this trilogy but the entire 9 episode saga and in order to do this he “has to do a few things”. I’m guessing they bring back Palpatine. -

Yeah. But it was dismissed rather quickly as people didn’t think he’d go there. But it could happen. Something really divisive but also crowd pleasing to round off all nine episodes. Seems the the most obvious thing.
Another one is that Kylo Ren’s Vader obsession gets the better of him and he ends up wearing a Vader suit. Or Vader is somehow bought back. I think this is a bit too far out.
But whatever it is, it’s going to be in the trailer.
