It'd be stupid to bring someone back but not that unbelievable due to cloning being an established thing in the universe.

Itís at times like this, when there are loads of theory vids coming up on YouTube and reddit threads full of nonsense you think of the nerds that say ĎI could write a better Star Wars film than Xí

    No, no you couldnít.

But I do like the chewie leia aggressive sex idea

I'm basically thinking the scene from League of Gentleman when it cuts to Pauline and Ross. Loveless perfunctory thrusts with just an occasional humph from Chewy.

You want Chewie to fuck an actual corpse?

    Sick man.

To be honest considering how wrong the rumours for TLJ ended being, I don't have much stock in SW rumours.

I still think TLJ is okay, but uneven. I'm tempted to give it a rewatch see if my opinion changes

So the trailer is 3 minutes of Chewie having aggressive sex with the corpse of Carrie Fisher who has been CGI'd up to look like Mary Poppins?

    That's...not what I was expecting.

I don't understand the whole Mary Poppins criticism, there are plenty of points where I can see the arguments are valid, but I've never had an issue with that.

I enjoyed it on first watch, was a bit bored on the second but itís not aimed at 30+ year olds so Iím fine with that.

Who was it aimed at then? Not childen either as my boy was bored shitless, not to mention confused as to what the dick was going on with Luke Skywalker who fannied about on an island, projected himself with a nice haircut and then fucked off into air.

    I didn't like it.

The main issue with the Mary Poppins bit was that the delivery of it was fucking stupid. That's kind of TLJ in a nutshell, plenty of nice ideas but the execution just doesn't really come together at all for large bits of it.

I thought it was alright. Probably the weakest of the new ones but nowhere near as bad as any of the prequel aids.

I'm being dense but what was the Mary Poppins bit? I'm presuming her space flight?

Mary Poppins made me howl in the cinema. Absolutely ludicrous, and really badly done. Didn't really affect my enjoyment of the film though, I still like it a lot.

It's true that the rumours are usually wrong, even after the trailers come out. I remember certain people in here being utterly certain that Luke was going to be the baddie after the VII trailer.

It didn't really work on any level, which is a shame.

It, presumably, was the big reveal that Leia didn't spend 30 years with her thumb up her arse and was actually also a magic space wizard but is that really a huge surprise? And if she was so powerful, why did she sit with her thumb up her arse for the previous 1.5 movies?

And, obviously, the effect was terrible, although not as bad as the Waxwork homunculus in rogue one.

Itís the Episode 9 trailer today. Sometime between 4-5pm UK. Itís going to be...interesting.

Was watching one of writers of /Film on a YouTube show and he was saying things heís heard about the trailer. Apparently itís going to be divisive. Not messing around here.

J.J. is looking to not only close off this trilogy but the entire 9 episode saga and in order to do this he ďhas to do a few thingsĒ. Iím guessing they bring back Palpatine.
Hoe the fuck would that 'close off this trilogy and the entire 9 episode saga'?

I think the point was that she had some latent, untapped ability. But yeah having her superman through space was just fucking shite. Should have framed it as some sort of unconscious use of the force to save herself or something.

See, I took it as she had learned a thing or two over the years. If it was her reflexively using her mighty untapped powers, that's even worse.

I don't see how it's ludicrous, how else should it look? I genuinely didn't find anything wrong with it.

I don't think it'd require a strong force ability to move through a gravity free vacuum
