Hmm..it’s from Deadline and it’s for Atom tickets and not Fandango. Also first hour. Still not bad though.
Source? Because that feels like bullshit

Edit: No news on UK tickets but it’s going to be today at some point. Was looking at the last Vue tweet about the film and some dude said he’d been constantly refreshing the website since 5:30am. No not me. Bound to be some nerd rage later today.

Registered 9 years ago05:30? Fucking lightweight, I have been checking since 02:30. Mind you, I work night shift and a lot of Septics had been posting their tickets at Docking Bay 94 and I was getting some serious envy too go with the semi that the trailer gave me. -

Don't you remember the internet rage of cinema websites crashing for the two previous Star Wars films? Same thing happened for Endgame. It was reported everywhere as well.It went fucking nuts.
Could be the cinemas have upped their game on the server front or (shock!) there's less demand to see this film. There's also the time as well. They went on sale at 9am with no previous warning whereas the last ones they announced the time and date a few days in advance. -

Registered 7 years agoTrailer did absolutely nothing for me. How they can club together a story from the dangling turd they're taking off from doesn't leave me with much hope. The fact the bought Palpatine back says enough. I don't buy that he was planned to be part of the plot years ago to be honest.
All a bit of a mess really.

It's not like writing as it goes is uncommon. I mean, look at the old trilogy too. A new Death Star? Where did that come from? I'm sure it wasn't planned like that from the start.

But since I don't feel any attachment to any of the new characters, I don't really feel excited about this movie either. Just about the one thing I can look forward to is whether the droids are only there for comic relief or if they will have any real impact. -

Registered 12 years agoIt looks fucking gorgeous, but then so did TFA and TLJ.
There's no way it can end in a satisfactory way though.
It'll be a bit crap, be reviewed very well. Fans will rip it apart. Scorcese will say it's not cinematic. Feige will rescue it all. Until the cycle repeats again.
Just bored AF of commercial cinema and the machine. -

Registered 16 years agoI expect the normal reception for new Star Wars movies, where an initially positive reception sours rapidly in the following weeks. Hell, a lot of people quite liked the prequels on first viewing. When I saw Ep7, I loved it at first, but when I rewatched the Blu-Ray release downgraded it to "decent". When I saw Ep8 for the first time, I thought it was boring. On rewatch, I downgraded that to "utter toss". -

Registered 16 years agoGuarantee I’ll be about to rock up to the local Everyman at 1pm on the 21st, buy a ticket at the door and sit in a mostly empty cinema to watch this just like every other film I go to watch -

Registered 16 years agoDepending on length, I may wait for the home release. Anything over 2 hours in a cinema these days makes me grumpy. Skipped the cinema release for IT Part 2 on that basis. -

That's what I always think of when people say George Lucas is some sort of visionary genius, and had everything planned out to the last bit. He always knew Vader was Luke's father, he wanted the whole arc to be about Vader's redemption, etc. etc.

It's such bollocks, they were all making it up as they went and Lucas probably didn't even know people would love the film so much. Especially considering what we've seen him do with unlimited money and time (prequels). -

Registered 16 years ago@d_h1234 Hah, they even had an alternate scope all ready for a lower-budget sequel to A New Hope, in case it only managed a middling commercial performance. Got rid of almost all of the expensive space stuff in favour of a more Indiana Jones-style adventure (and with a cheaper cast).
The alternative treatment was novelised as Splinter of the Mind's Eye and it should still be possible to track it down, if you want to try an alternate version of Star Wars where Luke and Leia weren't related. -

Obviously he couldn't predict the success and that led to new ideas taking shape, but he had an outline that served as the base core of the story - the details do change over time.
Same with the new trilogy - he provided a treatment of the trilogy to Disney but they chose not to stick with it (though used elements).

I was really looking forward to this (really enjoyed TLJ) but all the trailers I've seen and things I've read seem to be appeasing the fans who've been 'disgusted' by TLJ ever since it released, Wwich is a damn shame as I thought it was the best Star Wars film since Empire.
It'll just be another Marvel-like film now, snore.
