    RIP Ken Dodd
His song, Tears, was the 3rd best selling single/record of the 60's!

Pokes a Diddy Man with a tickling stick.

    Searches Google.

I was driving on the M62 into Liverpool the other night and mentioned the junction to Knotty Ash to my companion.. Wish I'd gone that way now .
    Oh well.

I'm pretty sure he died about 8 years ago. Are we sure someone isn't just reading an old BBC story again?

If we’re talking about things we find amazing, it’s that he never got taken down by Yewtree.

If it was Family Fortunes and the category was ‘A comedian that looks like he touches kids,’ Doddy was always going to be top answer.

Used to make me laugh as a kid. I see he married his partner of 40 years on Friday, that's a bit poignant. I also see he lived in the same house he was born in all his life and is in the Guinness Book of Records for most jokes told (something like 1,500 over three and a half hours). That was outstanding memory he had. Desperately needed a hair cut though!

    Yeah, she’d be stuffed otherwise.
  • Deleted user 12 March 2018 11:28:46
@figgis where did you read that? I can't see anything that says that was the reason.

But then he'd spent weeks in hospital for a serious illness, so would have wanted his partner to be looked after in the event of his death. Or you know, maybe his illness made him want to do it for her or both of them. Either way, it's a normal thing to do, to get and look after someone you care about.

Used to get the Diddymen annual at Xmas when we were young. For a long time I thought the Diddymen were real :)

My folks went to see him a couple of years ago. Don’t think they got out till gone 1am!

I too will mourn the end of “did he/doddy” based jokes. Sad times.

Yeah his shows went on for fucking hours apparently. He was actually a very funny guy once you got passed all the feather duster stuff.

I've just realised the show they put on at the start of the year was a happy birthday programme and not a happy death day programme. I guess we'll need a few examples of the latter now.

Stephen Hawking has left us for the ever-expanding void in the sky.

It's a sad loss to physics, but I can't say I'm not a little bit glad he's in a better place now. Can't have been fun stuck in that chair running windows xp all day.

That is sad. He was and always will be an icon. Genuinely advanced our understanding of the universe. 76 was quite astounding, though, given his condition.

The death of Stephen Hawking means we have lost one of the smartest people to have ever lived.

I so have my fingers crossed for the imminent playing out of Newton’s Third Law.

The suggestion that disabled people are probably better off dead is generally considered incredibly offensive.
