The problem is that the whole cousin fucking chinless lot of them are having more kids than they're dying off so we'll never be bloody rid of them.

Already heard one "Royal Correspondent" talking about stuff he saw on The Crown.

I'm sure the news coverage of Prince Andrew's assassination, I mean NATURAL DEATH will be just as sycophantic.

Bizarrely, the older I've got, the more anti-royalist I've become.

In today's outrage culture, I'm perpetually amazed that a load of chinless inbreds paid a fortune and living in obscene privilege based on..well, fuck all, DOESN'T result in some kind of huge movement against them.

Quick change and go on air to deliver the news all dressed in black. BBC, Itv, sky all in black.

Doesn't seem bizarre to me, the whole concept of a royal family is such preposterous, medieval nonsense, it's hard to understand how anyone intelligent would buy into the idea that there are these people who have special blood and come from a line with huge amounts of inbreeding, have automatically enormous sums of wealth and deserve money from you, the taxpayer and you, in return get to admire them and look up to them and their wealth because they have special inbred blood.
    mental.

Yeah, I think I've just mellowed a lot and don't really care less. I know they mean a lot to many people, like my Mum.
The younger side of it all can do one, and I will be spitting bile next time Andrew rears his head.

So, why do you still have the royal family? Is it just tourism and gossip mags basically?

I dont think people give a fuck about them, to be honest. There are a few royalist headbangers but outside of that 'they bring in tourism money' is about as strong as most peoples feelings get for them.

It just feels like most of society knows they are done and are happy to just let them wither away.

'He touched all ages' according to the radio a minute ago. Explains where Andrew got it from.

Respect to the old geezer due to anyone his age, but would be nice if the whole institution made a similarly dignified exit.

I dunno I think you're underestimating that a bit. There's still a shit ton of interest in them. More so than any other celebrities in this country really.

Hopefully the yoof see them for the useless cunts they are though and they get turfed out at some point.

Its a good day for casual racism, judging by the news it seems having been downgraded to 'forthright views'.

Interest in them, sure. They are just poorer Kardashians. People gawk at them like zoo animals. I dont think they care about the actual institutions other than the fact that we, as a society, own them.

If they got king ralphed tomorrow, the BBC would play chill out music for a few days and we would move onto obsessing over some other vacuous half wits.

I will further downgrade into "not giving a shit what other people think".

He was definitely a product of his age (so, a casual racist), and occasionally did some good stuff, but definitely most likely candidate to ask what colour would the babies be.

Radio is full on sad playlists. Already heard Candle in the Wind.

I'm on the fence about the Royal Family. They're an anachronism, but I respect their value in terms of attracting visitors to the UK and tourism. Therefore I mourn Philip's passing as I would the closure of an upper mid tier attraction - let's say if London Dungeon or Madame Tussauds was to shut.

I feel like the queen is probably going to step down in the next month and Charlie will finally get his promotion. Can't see the royal family lasting much longer as they're currently going. The queen should have stepped down donkeys ago, her hanging on waiting for public opinion to shift toward Charlie has fucked them long term. Better to rip the plaster off in the 80s when there was still a shred of good will.

Meghan's definitely going to be getting Daily Mail heat for attending the funeral purely to seek attention or not attending and being disrespectful.
