I have to say for all the gnashing of teeth on here I watched Phillips funeral last night with my olds and found it a dignified send off with minimal smoke up arse blowing. Say one thing for Phillip he didnít like a fuss.

The only irritation which Iím sure he would have a agreed was the cutting to the royal arse looking correspondents in the press box speculating on peopleís emotional states. Just shut up you pricks and let me enjoy this mans interment.

"Oh,it's so sad, look at her Maj all alone."

Errm, she chose to sit alone. She travelled with her Lady in Waiting etc and could have had other family close by but chose not to.

Yeah I watched it as well. Thought from an Audio/Visual point of view it was stunning.
I'll deduct two points for the commentators so a solid 7/10 for me.

His fight career was already over and he was always probably the worst boxer in the history of MMA. I hope the $500k was worth it for him because getting violently ktfo is all a lot of people will know him for now.

I had the commentary free feed on iPlayer and it was so much better.

Jim Steinman, the colourful composer behind hits like Bat Out Of Hell and Total Eclipse Of The Heart, has died at the age of 73.

    Damn that's a tough one. I grew up on Steinman's + Meat Loaf's music.
Bad For Good is one of only 9 albums on my phone and everyone should have it. He will be missed.

If anyone likes female vocals and or Steinman, have a listen to Original Sin by Pandora's Box.

It was a Steinman project and contains the original (and in my opinion, better) versions of songs that were redone by others; like Meatloaf and Celine Dione.

I used to have that on CD back in the day. I wonder what happened to it.

Good Girls Go To Heaven is just such a good song that it is a banger whether Meat, Jim or Pandora's Box sing it!

    @X201

Another vote for the Pandora's Box album.
The opening track, Original Sin, starts with everything (including the kitchen sink) and just keeps adding stuff. 'Epic' doesn't even come close...

Sad about Jim. Have always loved his unique brand of epic songwriting. Bad for Good is amazing, as is everything he ever wrote for Meat, Bonnie, Celine, Air Supply and the rest.

Michael Collins, command module pilot of Apollo 11 :(

Kind of ironic that Buzz Aldrin has ended up surviving the longest out of the Apollo 11 crew.

There are only four of the twelve men left now who walked on the moon.

Also a good quiz question - who was the 3rd man on the Apollo 11 mission?
