I stand corrected looking at amazon.uk , I guess it's a different story for us dirty mainland europeans because we have to wait for discs with the correct subtitles.

Still I tried ages trying to get a list out of www.blu-ray.com/4k/ that didn't include stuff that's not out yet.

I hate streaming because I love the bitrate that blu ray provides.
The future sucks, I thought we'd all have 10Ghz cpus and unlimited gigabit internet by now. But no, the average joe has a 20mbit "broadband" connection so that's what netflix is streaming at.

I watched Okja last week on Netflix - 4K HDR streamed - and it looked seriously great.

    $26 is about 20.

I'll be honest streaming "uhd" I cannot tell the difference from 1080 hd.

Sky q and uhd blu I can see it but streaming looks no different.
    I need glasses to see 1080p :/
Going to wait till I can get a 65" oled at a reasonable price.

Yeah streaming 4k isn't anything special. Err isn't Skyq a streaming service??

I assume your net connection simply isn't up to it as there is a noticeable difference between 1080 and 4k streaming.

I have 65mb fibre so it should be up to the task, most of the Netflix stuff is riddled with image grain which leaves it looking fairly rough tbh. Maybe you can suggest something in particular to try?

Nah on Sky Q you download the films, not sure on the UHD broadcast quality though, other than sport (which I have no interest in) there isn't much currently.
Interesting, I wasn't aware of that. However many of their films aren't available to buy in uhd so curious what they are actually giving you. Still likely a lower bitrate than true uhdblu anyway.

As I said, I watched Okja last week and it look really good. You can notice a difference with stuff like the Marvel shows though - Daredevil, Luke Cage, etc. With those you have to pay a bit more attention but it is noticeable.

Hopefully a silly question but you do subscribe to the UHD Netflix package?

Yes I get that and dolby vision as my tv supports it all in app. It's not terrible it's just not blow your socks off from what I've watched, the marvel stuff in particular isn't up to much for me.

Right, but you still need to pay for the 4K package. The tv support won't give it to you in a regular Netflix subscription.

It's fine I have it, well I think I do as I ponce it off a friend but I get the dolby vision kick in when required, it's definitely better but by small margins is my point.

Tbf revisiting my earlier posts, the switch to the b7 plus the extra few inches have made a fair difference.

So what films do people recommend?

Won't have a uhd player till I get my Xbox X but I've started my collection due to the combo packs and I've got Kong skull island and Logan.

    Plan on getting the following,

    Wonder Woman
    John wick 1 and 2
    Batman v Superman
    Man of Steel
    Blade Runner
    Guardians of the galaxy 2

    MoS and BvS aren't great.
John Wick 1 & 2 are actually very good in 4k.
I've not seen Kong, WW or GotG2 in 4k yet, but I imagine they'll be decent.
    Logan's pretty decent.

Deadpool is excellent, as is Pacific Rim.
