Tempted to pick up a Wii as my 3 year old is trying his best with my PS4 but I think a Wii would be fun for him to muck about with. Aside from Wii Sports are there any other games he'd have a chance of getting to grips with? |
Recommend Wii games for a toddler?

Madworld is very cartoony... Recomeded -
Had the same idea when mine was around that age. Didn't work out as expected, even Sports is a bit much for someone that doesn't understand the concept of the events they are playing.
Given any thought to a Kinect enabled 360? I only ask as I think the best game for kids that age is probably Kinect Party (used to be called Happy Action Theatre). -

Good call. I recall a room of 6 kids from 2 up having a great time with that. My dungeon exercise room will be great for VR too.

My lad used to love just standing in front of the screen beating all the little robot guys and playing some of the games that came with the Playroom. -

Other than that, I second Kirby or NSMB in two player mode so you can support him. -

Registered 18 years agoJust a thought, is a Wii U backwards compatible with the Wii games and the controller/nunchucks etc? -

Registered 14 years agoYes. Also nearly every game mentioned here has an appropriate Wii U version/sequel that won't look like ass on your HDTV, and you can also throw Yoshi's Wooly World into the mix. And I reckon SM3DW is probably more likely to be accessible to your son than the Galaxy games. -

I still say Wizard of Oz taught him killing first. -

ive just ordered Carnival games, Toy Story 3 (hes a massive woody/buzz fan) and will get MK and check out SM3DW and Boom Blox.
Cant find a decent price for a new Wii, dont really want a second hand one. Are there still issues with some Wii games when played through the Wii U? I know Wii visuals are good enough but i wouldnt want them to look worse through the Wii U. -

Registered 16 years agoWii u doesn't come with wiimote or nunchuck btw just the game pad, isn't clear from posts if you have the u yet. -
Not yet mate, was just going to grab a Wii but the backwards comp through a Wii U sounds ideal but i think there are issues with the visuals on some titles.. plus the Wii is cheaper, ish
