Registered 11 years agoDefinitely. I thought it really good fun overall, full of charm and character and had never played the originals FWIW. Graphics are ace too. -

Registered 11 years ago@brutus51 You sure you have a weapon equipped? It's hold L2 and then press R2 to shoot
L2 and R would just be to aim and move the camera

Registered 12 years agoFinished this yesterday, it was good (and ofc looked amazing) but it's the worst main Ratchet game (1-3, ToD and ACiT)I've played in terms of weapons, content, story, dialogue/comedy and length.
It felt half as long as most of the others. I'm glad it was a success so they hopefully continue the series. Also presumably there'll be no film to (presumably, haven't seen it) shackle it somewhat not time.
Apart from the graphics the only thing this one did better than the original was adopt the later controls rather than the legacy ones of 1. Oh and it had the actor from 2 onwards who IS Ratchet now (hearing the other guy from 1 on PS3 all those years later was a shock!).
I can't believe I've just played a Ratchet game with no arena
Not bad but any newcomers who enjoyed this really should go on to play the games on PS3 if they can! -

Registered 12 years agoPlayed a little bit with my nephew (8) yesterday on Challenge Mode (most weapons decently upgraded) and he absolutely loved it (despite being initially sceptical because he'd seen the film and found it unmemorable compared to most these days). He adored the weapons, variety of gameplay, humour and (ofc) picking up bolts!
He said he really wanted it on his Xbox and couldn't understand why it's not on there. So I guess while it's been 'dumbed down' for longer term gamers a lot of kids who got their hands on this will hopefully mean a happy continuation of the series.
I'd like to see both a full-sized release next time and more for veterans of the series (e.g. a deeper and harder gameplay mode - and I don't just mean a harder difficulty or Challenge Mode. They need to retain the hardcore fans as well as gain new ones, and so much of this felt half-baked such as the one or two (easy) flying sections - they can leave out the harder bits for the young 'uns in a separate mode).

Never played it but from a quick search the Vita version of the Collection seems to mention some tchnical issues (?).

Registered 7 years agoHave you been doing it on the bosses too? Remember I had trouble with that and had to do another playthrough just for it. There's a good Youtube guide that shows all the enemies by each level. -

Registered 8 years agoI had tons of trophies that never unlocked for some reason. Completed it at least 5 times and it still refuses to acknowledge that I've got every golden bolt and weapon upgrade ffs!
I enjoyed it, but can't be arsed running through it again! -

Registered 18 years agoThis is well worth £7.70. And I'd kill for Shadow of Mordor for a fiver. It's still £49.99 on the UK store. -

Registered 11 years ago@Singularity It's relatively easy to set up a US account and purchase off there.
I'm thinking of grabbing that and PVZ:Garden Warfare 2 from the UK store which is currently £9 -

Registered 15 years agoIt really is totally worth setting one up for US bargains. You can switch profiles on the PS4 right from the PS button. Buy and download on your US profile, then play on your UK profile. I just buy US PSN cards off ebay. Dead easy. -

Registered 14 years agoI don't dislike it, but after just a few hours, already I'm not feeling the drive to keep playing it.
It looks amazing and runs well, the dialogue works, the shooting is competent, and the platforming is never a hindrance. But on the other hand, neither the shooting nor the platforming are fleshed out enough to keep me playing.
Somehow, it feels like less than the sum of its parts. -
And 3 months later I've finally completed a playthrough! The rail grinding was a pain in the arse but overall it was good fun.
