Urgh, Miley Cyrus murdering Back to Black at the moment. Heard her ruin Head Like a Hole (Nine Inch Nails) the other day too.

So Vampire Weekend are just a Paul Simon Graceland tribute act these days?

Charlie Brooker rewrote the lyrics for black mirror and Trent gave them the thumbs up. She's singing it as a character

I'm guessing that she sounds better live as her recorded music is essentially mumbling over some barely-there backing track. Bad Guy is okay.

Bad Guy sounds like Shotgun by the mighty George Ezra

    That’s all they ever were

I really like Vampire Weekend but a few of their songs bear striking resemblance to Paul Simon.

Worse things to sound like to be fair and they have a pretty immaculate discography.

Is anyone hyped for The Cure?

I like them plenty but the straighter rock acts have all failed to really grab me this year

They’ve certainly had some great songs, but I’m not sure how much of their stuff I really know.

I didn't realise Elizabeth Taylor was still alive and fronting The Cure .

Switched over to The Streets - watched them close in 2003, and have been reminsicing in the car recently (the first album isn't what it used to be).

I’ve always fucking hated the sound of “the streets” along with how pretentious a title for one man it is.

Yeah the 'my first Casio keyboard' tunes are pretty painful in the main. I know that's not really the point of them but still.

Ok yeah a lot of this is dreary shit
Think it’s only the mainstream stuff I remember for a reason, not entirely my cup of tea.

Turned off The Streets - Mike Skinner is performing like someone who's accidentally been recruited to be Mike Skinner for the evening.

Cure bassist is good. Shame his bass is so heavy though.

For someone who looks like my great auntie after a night on the gin and in a such rush to cash her pension that she didn't brush her hair.- Smith still has a decent, destinctive voice. They are growing into the set - I think a darker backdrop of night falling helps too.

This and The Comet Is Coming are the only acts I've seen this year that I wish I was there for. I've got ticket for Comet's Nottingham gig later this year though (small venue too so should be a good).atmosphere).

Pfft. The strap appears to be at the requisite length for bass playing.

Lower = cooler as everyone knows.

Robert Smith may look like he is melting, but still has the voice.
