When is Ripley going to go to the home planet of the aliens and wipe out the queen of queens?

I really liked the look of the trailer a lot... but then again I enjoyed the hell out of Prometheus. There's always one, isn't there?
I fucking love it. Irrationally so.

I like Prometheus but it's a giant cock tease of a film. It literally looks like an Alien script that's had the aliens removed & replaced by generic pink space things instead (which I realise is exactly what happened.) Then they throw in that final shot which is the ultimate cock tease & it ends. Fucking beautifully shot film though.

If this actually makes a bit more sense of the first film & gives us what most people wanted (an actual Alien prequel) then I'll be happy. The trailer certainly looks like it does that.

I kinda get why they've thrown a gore-filled trailer out as well, given that Prometheus was incredibly tame & was shot with a pg-13 rating in mind. This is basically giving all of the complainers first time around exactly what they wanted.

Prometheus is a good film that relies on a few acts of utter idiocy to move the plot forward.

The world building, the lore, the ships, the planets, the tech and a handful of the characters are all good stuff but the things that linger in most people's minds are the idiot who tried to stroke the space cobra and the girl who couldn't run left.

When I watch Charlize running in her latest perfume advert I like to imagine that, when she falls over at the end, she's going to be rolled over by a massive spaceship. Again.

I thought Prometheus was a bit staid, and was inhabited by rather tedious characters who sometimes behaved in remarkably dumb ways. And I found the squid silly.

That said, it looked incredible at times and Fassbender was great.

I'll almost certainly see the new film, but I'm remaining sceptical.

    I will never understand this.

A building sized object has just been obliterated above your head. You can run about 10mph. Debris is falling about the place. Youd be in a panic, totally shitting yourself.

You're really going to stand there, consider your options etc.

Its akin to asking why so many victims, chased in films, run up stairs.

They are running for their lives.

As much as I can understand this rationale, it still looks a bit silly on film.

That's why it's infuriating watching people run from chasing cars in films.

I think I need to watch it again as I genuinely thought it was one of the stupidest films I've ever seen.

They just... run. Like anyone would.

I mean I could totally understand if we were talking about Robocop. He would stand there, look up, analyse the descent pattern and position himself accordingly.

    Me? Id just fucking run.

She had to die like any other blonde girl that had sex in a horror movie.

I wasn't talking specifically about that part. That was just one of the many stupid parts.

The entire run from the rolling spaceship needed the Benny Hill playing.

Luckily I am not alone in thinking this.

Ha. Looking at it there it's so fucking stupid. I don't care how panicked you are you'd still think "shit it's rolling this way, I better go that way."

Thats because you 'turned your brain off' for the first Transformers movie and it never came back on.

I do agree with you on this. Having just watched it the other day this part doesn't bother me so much. It could have toppled either direction while rolling, and frankly it would have been anyone's guess which way to run to be safe.

The stupid botanist, the scaredy-cat geologist, and the deeply unscientific scientist are what lingers for me.

Only just noticed on my second watch of the trailer that danny mcbride is in this. Glad they've at least got a few serious actors of that caliber.

It's idiotic, she actually ends up slowly rolling out of the way to avoid it which makes it even more preposterous.

I need to watch it again. I was so hyped for it after the trailers and then the film itself was largely disappointing from what I remember.

The lore ain't great either tbh.

They set off across the galaxy because of some cave paintings just 'because'.

They also infer that these people are somehow the creators of the human race and all life on earth for absolutely no reason.

There's also a dude at the start who does something with the black goo because ????

    bobbins the whole film
