Judging by the RT for Episode 8 I must be on something. -

Don't think eating any kind of shit would make you see the world differently. It might make you heave, maybe vomit. But it's like anything, you'd get used to it eventually. -

Hey, what if it's the only thing you can eat?
And what does any of this have to do with the state of event cinema in 2017?

Registered 17 years agoI'm sure there's a thread for this already but I can't find it and I don't want to start another one.
James Cameron has hinted that he/s working on the Neill Blomkamp’s ‘Alien 5’. Now that Disney have taken over Fox it looks as though they're letting Cameron do what he wants. Yes, he's busy with Avatar sequels but he can spend some time getting other films made.
This could be a good thing.

Registered 6 years agoI love Blomkamp's visual style and Cameron producing could get this off the ground. Would definitely be in favour, especially after seeing his short films on YouTube -

Registered 6 years agoAs a big Alien3 fan for the sake of canon I'd prefer it to be its own standalone thing but I am still in favour of someone so good at used future getting on board with the series -

Registered 16 years agoNow that Disney owns the licence, is Ripley basically a Disney Princess (TM)? Guess the Xenomorph Queen makes a decent enough "evil stepmother" type.
What we need now is the animated musical remake of Alien. Add a few big musical dance numbers to key scenes (something good and catchy to go with the "unfortunate incident at dinner"), turn the cat into a talking, wisecracking sidekick and have a few facehugger pratfalls.
Compared to the other things that could happen to the franchise now, that's pretty tame. -

Although subsequent “Alien” sequels were undertaken by directors James Cameron, David Fincher and Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Scott returned to the world of the story with 2012’s “Prometheus” and 2017’s “Alien: Covenant.” And he may not yet be done.
Nggh. Nuke it from orbit.
“I still think there’s a lot of mileage in ‘Alien,’ but I think you’ll have to now re-evolve,” Scott said. “What I always thought when I was making it, the first one, why would a creature like this be made and why was it traveling in what I always thought was a kind of war-craft, which was carrying a cargo of these eggs. What was the purpose of the vehicle and what was the purpose of the eggs? That’s the thing to question — who, why, and for what purpose is the next idea, I think.” -

This thread has reminded me that I haven't watched Covenant yet. Or Prometheas 2. Was there even a 2?
