God Of War 4 Page 56

I finished the platinum on this last night. I loved the main game, but the additional content was a bit mixed.

It seemed quite grindy. Niflheim started off interesting but you get the armour quite quick and then it becomes a matter of doing circuits. The Muspelheim trials weren't all that challenging imo, and the fact I have to repeat trials to keep unlocking the last one put me off repeating. Don't understand why they spread them out either. Just give me an arena, and a menu of really hard challenges. I did enjoy going after all the Valkyries, which seemed the right level of challenge when you had tooled up - agree with comments above about cooldown being the best thing to boost for much of the hard stuff.

It doesn't take the shine off the main story which was superb throughout, but I would have liked a combat arena to dick around in with my end game character. A bit sad it's all over, hopefully they can build on it for the sequel.

I’ve finished and really enjoyed the game but can’t be arsed going after the vals, too bloody hard for me and after completing all the trials my fingers are sore. Probably trade in now wile worth a bit still.

Actually I just had a look up on the Valkyrie and apparently the one I was fighting was the bloody Queen of the Valkyries!! After I done all the trials so I will skip her for now and try a lesser Valkyrie.

Cant have been the queen as you have to get the others first but some are much harder than others. If it's the one at the end of the trials then i found her harder than all the other normal valks though.

    @StaffyDog

How can you have fought the Queen Valk if you haven't defeated the other Valkyries?

Ah ok I was going by what I read on the net. It said the Valkyrie after the trials is the Queen but they must be wrong then. The trials were pretty hard especially the last where you can’t take a single bit of damage. I had to drop the difficultly down to lowest.

I found the Muspelheim/Niflheim Valkyries relatively easy (especially the Niflheim one). Of the "normal" Valkyries, only the one that summons adds (forget the name/location) made me sweat.

The Queen, however, is bastard hard and required a couple of hours of attempts, plus a fair bit of gear tuning.

Wish I hadn't got so sidetracked in Muspelheim and Nippleheim before finishing the story.

Now I've finished Muspelheim and Nippleheim and I'm finally back on the main path I feel completely removed from the plot and characters. I always do this kind of thing.

For some reason I can't resist grindy side challenges that take me away from the main story.

I did it in GTAV with the achingly dull submarine collect-a-thon. More recently I did it with the real estate stuff in Yakuza 0. And now with GOW4. Good way to ruin a great game. When will I learn?

I did her on my third attempt.

...because after two attempts on normal with maximum tuned gear I hadn't even made a dent in to the first segment of her health, so I dropped the difficulty to easy. Shameful I know, but by that point I just wanted to wrap up the only thing left in the game.

I finished over the weekend. Overall I loved the game, well worth my time. I did turn down the difficulty of the final battle which is annoying because overall the main stuff wasn't that hard but like usual they felt a final boss had to have much different powers than the rest of the game.

Anyway it was a fun ride and I hope they are working furiously on the sequel.

I'm up against Valkyrie Queen now, I took a bit of time off to do some runs through Niflheim and get to Level 8. She's still kicking my ass. Just when I think everything's going OK she Mileenas off the screen and insta smashes me. I'll get her next time.

I don't want to offend anyone here but I heard about God of War 4 being cracked and made playable on PC? Has anyone else heard or read the same thing? I mean I was very skeptic of the idea, because it sounds too good to be true but if it's true then...

@samyboy Congratulations, you've found a perfect specimen of the Lesser Spotted Bullshitosaurus.

    It's not true.

Porting a PS4 game to PC is not simply a matter of breaking the copy protection. There is, at present, no significantly functioning PS4 emulator for the PC (nor is there likely to be for years yet). Getting God of War running on the PC would require substantial portions of the game's code to be rewritten and could only be done by either the original developer or another studio with full access to the source code.

Yeah...but I heard from this my mate whose cousin's dad's brother who works for Nintendo, who said it was true because he's working on the Nintendo WindowsStation and he's seen God of War 5 running already.

This game gets better and better.. just had a really thrilling battle against multiple opponents, of different types/sizes, and really enjoyed it.. felt like a badass after lol

I’m at the chisel, no idea how far through I am.

Apparently it’s sold over 5m copies within a month, surely this will end up selling over 10m. I’d say a sequel is a fairly safe bet ;)
  • Deleted user 24 May 2018 23:30:44
@IronGiant very much depends on how much goofing around you intend to do in the world. If you just focused on the plot I would say you are about three quarters of the way through.

@Rogueywon Well as I said, I didn't want to offend anyone. However, since you have given me the answer so well. It just makes me belief that me being skeptic was right. It's just not possible and is not right in the sane mind.

I know this is from 4 days ago but....

The tactic I used for her (and every other Valkyrie, tbh) was:

    - pick 4 runic attacks with max strength and the slow down time talisman
    - choose armour with decent runic and cool down
    - run up to her and launch all your magics in one hit
    - avoid her for the next 30 seconds while everything recharges
    - blast all your magic at her
    - rinse and repeat until one of you is dead

I found the exact opposite tactic worked for me, I did it a couple of days ago. I used, and I forget the names so I apologise, life giving blades runic attack, some random swishy blades attack, whirlwind axe attack, ground slam axe attack and the slow time talisman. I also went in with a full rage meter and a rage resurrection stone, and gave Atreus the legendary health-giving garb.

For me, it came down to patience and health management. That meant not attacking willy nilly and hanging back to react to attacks rather than trying to actively attack her, also getting as much health as possible any time I could. Once I had figured that out it got much easier and I was almost able to beat her a few times before I managed to do it, whereas before I would generally get smashed around the halfway mark. If my health was low I would use the healing blades power, pause time and go to town on her. That would usually give me quite a decent boost, and if that wasn't available yet then I could rage to heal up, or hopefully find something lying around.

Actually just about to fight the queen. Been doing what nick has said for my other fights so will try that. Haven’t put cool down armour on though. I suspect the queen fight is similar to the others.

Done muslepheim and nifheim do I think I just got the queen to do and a couple of missed ravens and then off to the final story bit

Think I’m in the upper end of 7. I fully upgraded my axe and other ‘weapon’ as well.

That's when I first tried and I got fucking obliterated. Probably possible if you're better than me (not hard!), but I would recommend 8 if you can get there.
