AC is coming to PS4 and Xbox One in June 2016.

Personally I'm looking forward to it. I pre-ordered it for just under £30 awhile ago for the PS4 version.

After PCars, I'll be waiting this one out I think.

Really want it to be good.

@SomaticSense Its a known quantity though as has been out for an age on PC and is very well regarded.  Should be great!

    Delayed :(

Global video games publisher 505 Games, part of the Digital Bros Group, and developer Kunos Simulazioni announce a new release date today for the Xbox One and Playstation®4 versions of racing simulation title Assetto Corsa.

The date is now set for 26th and 30th August 2016 in Europe and North America respectively.”

While the most recent delay hasn’t be detailed, it’s reasonable to conclude that the explanation given for the previous delay also applies here: the additional time will be spent polishing and making sure the console release rings true to the reputation Assetto Corsa has garnered for itself in the PC community.

As many already know, when the racer lands on consoles it will run at 1080p on the PS4, while the Xbox One version will have to sacrifice resolution at 900p, and both versions will run at a smooth 60fps.

I like Assetto Corsa but last time I played it it was nothing more than a hotlap simulator.

AI was awful and couldn't even keep a car on the track if grip levels weren't perfect, online multiplayer was an absolute crap shoot due to lag and dodgy collision detection and half the cars were using the exact same physics files (maybe one or two minor tweaks) so they all felt identical to drive.

Not tried the latest update mind.

You must have played it a long time ago. The AI has been vastly improved and is now very good aside the typical first lap problems which every game suffers from. Not sure what you mean about the physics files, I've never experienced that, the cars feel very different to me depending on what you drive.

Assetto Corsa is one of the best simulators available at the moment.

Just before the 1.5 patch so I don't know if stuffs improved since then.

Sums up my experience with the AI in the game

1.5 patch had serious AI improvements in it.

That blog is one of the worst I've ever read.

Spa, Silverstone, Monza, and the ‘Ring, though many more of the game’s tracks are visible at various points. Mugello, Brands Hatch, Catalunya, and Vallelunga.

Looking forward to this on PS4. Anyone know if you're able to tone down the sound of the tyre screeching a bit?

This has stopped loading for me on PC, I click it on Steam and then nothing happens. I've validated the integrity of the files but it still isn't working...

When you say stopped loading, does the game not start or once in the menus a race won't start? If the later check the display resolution is still as expected.

Check your virus checker hasn't quarantined the .exe file, both Norton and Bit Defender have done this to me in the past.

Is this a step up from Project Cars on the wheel?

@Decks Definitely, the laser scanned tracks alone make a huge difference. The FFB in PCars is a bit shit to be honest. rFactor 2 and this are two of the best I've tried.

Project Cars can be great when you get into a race and everything's set up nicely but I've always found it too much effort to play. I was always searching for the "correct" settings. Making adjustments to the many many variables in wheel settings and then tweaking feedback on a car by car basis. I genuinely think I spent more time in menus than actually racing.

I have AC preordered but am I goin to have the same issues here?.

Nah most of the cars work straight out the box just fine. Better clutch support too, the F40 is a dream to drive. AI has improved a lot but the racing is still pretty tame, no night racing and no pit stops.

If the console release is anything like the current state of the PC version id give it a miss for a while.

Excels as a hot lap simulator, laughably bad in every other aspect.

That split screen thing is a bit weird. I like the principle, as you don't need that much screen space vertically, but it's a bit distracting. Is that on by default?

Or is that something they've added for the video?
