    @AaronTurner R5 1600, GTX1080 16Gb ram. Latest drivers.

    5760x1080 Res with everything on high barring mirrors and getting 70-80fps in a full grid at pretty much every track in all conditions. Monza it dropped to about 55fps at the start but quickly cleared up

    It looks stunning, but if Aaron says VR support is janky Iíll stick to iRacing, gonna start my 2nd season in the Skips in a couple weeks time before deciding if I want to remain in open wheelers.

    Yeah VR seems to still be super janky. Will give that a proper test over the weekend.

    I wonder if it's just unkind to AMD cards, I know mine is no longer top of the range, but it's not exactly a slouch either. I'm certainly not getting those sort of FPS at 2560*1080.

    The AI at the start of races is still very erratic unfortunately, quite disappointed about that.

    I'm running on a mix of medium/high/ultra settings after a lot of tweaking and I get over 60FPS all the time on a 1070Ti at 1080p. I managed to get ok VR performance by following some .ini tweaks on the Steam forums in the beta stage.

    During alpha/beta I was running an RX 470 and it ran like shit.

    I tried this again the other night and remembered that I couldnít find any settings for calibrating wheels on console. Google isnít coming up with much, so Iím guessing Iím out of luck unless you folks know any different?

    Iím using a G920 and I really struggle with the break being too hard to press, so for Dirt 2.0 I mess with the saturation quite a bit to make it work for me.

    As it is in game, the breaks are pretty much useless.

    The brakes are indeed actually useless until they've got some heat in them (you can turn this off), as it is GT3 cars generally take quite a while to slow down so this is actually the expected behaviour.

    The brake pedal on the G920 is very firm. I normally have to calibrate the saturation way down

    Yes thatís right, Iím talking about original game. Itís weird that there seems to be no way to calibrate your wheel, other than to choose how much it rotates.

    I've got VR working to some sort of level although it doesn't look a patch on AC1 or PC2. However, everytime I'm near an ai I drop frames, partricularly when side by side. Obnviously my CPU is topping out but it seems ridiculous, can happen with a small field of cars too. When I played the career mode in normally flatscreen a car passed me and my graphics dropped to single digits. It's just not optimised.

    Ah man, the more I play the more I'm disappointed. The engine feels unresponsive, the FF feels muted, the AI isnt great. I wouldn't be bothered if it was still early access, but this isn't a 1.0, or it shouldn't be.

The Single Player Career and Championship are a bit lacking apparently but I havenít touched those and will be unlikely to spend much time on them. I do like the Special Events though, Hot Laps, Hot Stints, Superpole etc. inc. official SRO Blancpain Special Events. I suspect Kunos will improve Single Player over time.

    Kerbs are already been looked at, the worst for me are at Catalunya, the odd ones grab a bit too much and can spin you. I never had an issue with the tracks in the EA though but havenít been back to those in v1.

    The rating and safety system is excellent (by Minolin of MR fame in AC if you know of that), SA is the Safety rating, once you get into servers that are 65+ the racing is generally clean. The CC (Car Control) rating is brilliant, it gives you feedback on each corner, too slow, fine, perfect etc. and by concentrating on improving that I gained over 2 seconds on my Monza lap time.

    The new Competition servers (and CP rating) seem a great addition, once your SA is 70 you can enter these. Today I did my first CP race, 25 min practice (basically a lobby gathering racers), a 20min Quali followed by a 60min race at Brands Hatch, I think there were 26 racers. Not a great result in the end (I pitted but shouldnít have) but a good clean race, still fighting for positions right to the end. Eventually these CP servers will be split by your CP rating so hopefully you should end up in very competitive well matched races.

    I expect ACC to go on improving based on how Kunos developed AC but Iíve more than had my £17.99s worth from the EA already.

    I have every faith in Kunos that they will fix the problems, but the game is in a pretty sorry state for a final release.

    They pretty much fixed it, played some VR today and it's running smooth on my system (albeit with motion smoothing turned on) and looks pretty good with epic settings! Well worth jumping in now!

    Itís my favourite vr racer, I love doing laps of the nurburg ring in the 80s merc. Hard to go back to 2D racing games after that though.

    Is the new one graphically more intensive then? I like the old one because it runs at 120fps on the Index.

    It is yeah, you won't be getting 120fps out of it. It's only GT3 also.

    Wow, I just did a full hour sprint race against the AI. Incredible! This has gone from never being played to my favourite sim since the last update. My body is actually knackered like I've been doing the real thing.

    It's a really incredible sim now, totally agree with the praise in here. I quite like the narrower focus too - it ends in ultimately a better experience for what it does.

    My issue for not diving in deeper is just preferring racing's structure for online races. The much larger player numbers help iRacing in that regard too.

    If they could emulate that then it might actually pull me away as I pretty much only drive GT3 abd GTE anyway.

    Iíve heard itís pretty decent now, with the best GT3 racing out there. Iím sold enough to have preordered it for Xbox.

    The preorder dlc is a bit cheeky. A completely different race series and 4 tracks. Fuck that. I need a demo first to see if they've included some decent pad controls this time round.
