Not entirely sure yet, but it might not even have Time Trial leaderboards.

@Birdorf Depends if they 'appropriated' the 3rd party PC ones like they did a bunch of mod content for their dlc packs

    Aye, let's hope they have.

I've gone back on the fence, although the thought of driving around the old Monza track is massively appealing.

If y'all are waiting for them to patch anything in I'd get settled in for a looooong wait. Not the most rapid of developers.

There are no leaderboards on the PC version yet, but in my opinion Assetto Corsa has been positively humming with advances recently! It's the most actively updated of all the sims at the moment with another big patch due in just a couple of weeks on PC (custom championships, yaay!). The advances have all taken it another level above the other sims, I mean it's on its 10th tyre model - there is so much work happening on that game.

I'll download it from PSN tomorrow. I'm kidding myself if I think I'm not going to buy it. I said I wouldn't buy F1, but lasted until about 3 in the afternoon.

Taking photos is not really my thing, but there are some stunning shots here:

    Way to miss the point

A shame but the game will always be up against console gamers expectations with regards to GT and Forza. No one should but this game for career mode, interface or leaderboards. This is purely and simply the best driving simulator your money can buy. Laser scanner tracks and brilliant physics make up for any deficiencies in other areas. Of course, I'm taking about the PC version.

Its the only bad review I've seen to be fair, all the other ones have been glowing.

I cant take that review seriously. Forza 6 is forgiving. Project Cars, Dirt Rally and probably this are not.

Since the email from Game Collection I've pre ordered with Amazon (£30)

Very early impressions are that it feels great on a pad after you've turned down steering sensitivity and speed.

I've only been able to run a pratice session with the fiat 500 at Zandvoort and the performance wasn't great. Lots of tearing and FPS drops with only me on the track. Only other minor gripe so far is you can't assign controls on the pad. I prefer gear up to be circle rather than X but hopefully they'll patch this in.

Considering how much fun I had with just the fiat 500, I can't wait to start racing and test out the proper cars. UI is very smart and clean and pretty easy to navigate. Looking forward to this.

I reinstalled the PC version after a loooong time, and it's better than ever - a tad more forgiving as well, I think. Works great with a pad now as well, and is unmatched with a wheel. The sense of speed and the whole "feel" is just so natural. You just know when to break before a corner.

AC will probably encourage me to buy a high-end PC for iRacing in the future, unless GT Sport turns out to be a masterpiece

@Decks there was a very small patch that downloaded (PS4).

Now that I've played more it's pretty obvious they weren't really ready to release this yet. Probably why it was £30 at most places. The performance is pretty bad at times and there are a good few bugs so far. AI hasn't been great so far. While the fiat 500 felt good, some other cars I've tried have felt a bit strange.

Think this is one I'll definitely wait out on for improvements as there's a great game there.

What do you mean by bugs?

Well I say bugs, but they could just be unfinished parts of the game. My first race half the AI turned straigh into the pit wall as the lights went out (bug obviously). I won the race by a country mile and had to sit in the pits until all AI had crossed the line, then nothing happened. You just had to quit to the main menu. Like I said, feels unfinished.

Never seen that before, do we know which version the console game is based on?

I want senna from the project cars thread to come in here and tell us it's fine and these bugs are a myth...

I hope I enjoy it! If it's buggy I just hope the dev team can patch it up and make improvements. Seen some footage at GTP recently. The brake discs glow red as soon as the driver touched the brakes and then out again when of the brakes. That shouldn't be possible.

you don't really need a particularly high end pc for iracing, depending on resolution/ number of monitors you have.

I can forgive alot if the handling is as good as they say it is. Shame the screentear sounds pretty bad, it's one of the few performance things that really grate on me.

    Dear God the screen tear.
  • Deleted user 26 August 2016 17:34:38
I'm quite surprised at that because the PC version is so efficient, it runs superbly. Hopefully they'll patch it.

I did the MP4-12C hot lap thing on the Monza 66 circuit. Was great fun and got hardly any screen tear. Like Driveclub, if you get the handling right on a pad, even just hot lapping a track can be fun.

The performance in general though is the main thing they need to focus on. I've noticed even the track map and the lap timer don't run smoothly sometimes! AI would be the next thing then just generally tidying up the game as a whole.
