Registered 15 years agoThanks for the nudge. A sale, who knew? I’ve wanted to try this for ages, just not at launch price. Have been nipping into CEX when possible and they almost never seem to have a second hand copy, but if they do then it’s been way over this deal price, I guess due to rarity.
I shall be smearing myself over cobblestone walls this week

Registered 15 years agoUm, it’s good enough. Don’t regret buying it for the sale price.
You can see the budget- menus are a touch shit, career mode basic and there are a few small bugs. But it looks good and runs OK on base PS4.
Took me a while to tune into the handling but I don’t have a lot of experience with bike games. Best advice would be to keep the assists on medium and dive straight into the career mode while you’re sorting the settings and figuring handling out- the courses are much more open and less punishing and you can be earning some credits towards buying future bikes.
Ultimately, the appeal is probably bout how much you w t to learn the main TT course.

Registered 6 years agoWeird question but are there any braking hints anywhere? Brake markers or tire marks on the road at the start of a braking zone? I hate using the racing line thing. -

Registered 15 years agoAnswer’s no, not especially. There is some scrubbing on the road in the deeper braking sections but you couldn’t really use them as a braking guide because it’d be too late to start braking then.
Actually, so much of it is about flowing through the corners and carrying speed that that’s probably about right. It’s instead about knowing the course and where you can take liberties, which is a monumental bloody task. -

Registered 15 years agoThe fucking kerbs get me. It’s a high speed race track. With cobblestone Armco and kerbstones hiding in the shady 150mph spots. It’s beyond insanity. -

Registered 16 years agoWhatever you do DONT bother with the sidecar DLC. I got it free at the time it was released and its.. errm shit!
The game itself is ok. I dont regret buying it and did pump a fair few hours into it at the time managing clean laps around the tt course. When it clicks and your not distracted its a brilliant feeling nailing the corners at times but then the physics let it down. Allow me to explain...It simply doesn't really give you enough feel/feedback to the control input so finding the limit is difficult and once you do its already a crash usually from the rear. Ride on the edge? Yep about right. It might be the track but whatever it is the crashes do seem odd at time and unfair.
Moto GP18, Ride 2/3 from Milestone you can feel the limit of grip and can usually save a front or rear end slide both into and out of corners. If Milestone could take the licence from Kylotonn to feature the TT as DLC in Ride 3 I'd be very happy! -

Registered 3 years agoOh, shame. I really wanted a good m070r81k35 game, I still love Moto GP 2 on the Xbox, it felt like the physics of a high side or losing the front end was always plausible.
Sidecar TT races are nuts. My da used to race sidecars (NOT at the TT!) and one of the very few things we could bond over was watching sidecar onboard footage of the TT and seeing how close mentals put their heads towards stone walls at high speed.
