And when you get greens it, slightly confusingly, sticks at level 150 and you go from 150 to 150+1, 150+2, 150+3...

Which is why you need to farm gear. You need two +1 items to make a +2 and two +2 items to make a +3. So if you want to craft +3 armour it actually takes eight +1 pieces to make.

@Load_2.0 I will say this, the item drops and management of said items is convoluted and shit, and unfortunately kinda have to do some of it to get a decent build.

The good FAR outweighs the bad though, and it's not even bad bad, it's just a bit confusing to begin. The combat and level design is superb, and I think it's best played in co-op but that's just me.

I refuse to play games like these without the wiki or youtube tutorial close to hand anyway, it takes a bit of time to get going but once it does it's amazing, just don't be worried about summoning help or summoning wiki. or this thread.

They should have put that on the cover.

For me personally the gameplay and combat is probably the best in any game ever. All the convoluted excel shit is only addictive because it makes you into a more lethal samurai machine.

It's difficult to get into but once your darting about popping off people heads or dicing monsters into little chunks there really is no more satisfying game than this imo.

Yeah it's a steep curve if you aren't used to these games but the combat is fucking spot on. I was always going to like it being a team ninja groupie but it was far better than I expected.

I remember being stuck on the 1st boss for a while like a noob as well. Funny how you can revisit previously slain bosses and not get touched by them. Oh fuck it I'm buying this on my laptop. £17 lets ninja the fucker up again.

Yeah I've started again and that cunt in the long grass was down on the second attempt. Not sure how I struggled with the water blob so much as everything else has been a breeze.

The combat really is fucking immense. Plus you never really get the kodama noise out your head.

    Ever.

That kind of popping noise. I think I've been hearing it walking to work. Can't find any of the fucking things though. Unless standing in dog shit counts.

I just throw everything into the katana skill and use my prancing skills to keep me out of trouble. I still don't know what soul matching is.
Ok this sounds more like me lol

Started a playthrough on pc earlier. Looks splendid as well. Did the opening tower area and left it at the main game start (fishing village). I'd totally forgot about that 1st tutorial boss and what happens.

Got lost in the tower (think the game was too dark to see some areas and I kept doing that thing where I find myself with my eyes closed running into walls) signal enough that Iím maybe a bit too tired for this just now.

The Tower is a pretty awful start to the game. Doesn't really pick up until after that level.

Yep I didn't have fond memories of it. Thankfully it's pretty short and got my combat tuned up again.

Never completed this. Rarely don't finish a game but felt it was totally empty.i think I was about 2/3 through. Combat was excellent but the way the missions were done and levels it felt pointless. In bloodbourne etc it all feels connected and interesting.

So is there not really any exploration as that was a key thing I enjoyed in ds, bb etc.

Levels are more linear in this and no interconnected areas etc.

But the levels themselves have all the hallmarks of souls with unlockable shortcuts and very tight design throughout.

But it's all so lifeless because there is no connection. Just individual levels to kill some things and often repeat the levels with different enemies. Soulless Vs from software games.

I wouldn't say they were lifeless. I initially didn't like the fact it wasn't all interconnected but after a while of playing I actually came to like it. It means I could concentrate on the combat and not wander around wondering where the fuck im going.

Everything is designed with the combat in mind. It gets compared to Souls a lot because of the progression system but they're very different games. This is more like a more considered take on Ninja Gaiden imo. The gameplay is light years ahead of the Souls games for me but then I've never really been a huge fan of them other than Bloodbourne. Combat needs to be responsive and nimble for me to enjoy it.
