@nickthegun a bit of luck and drop rate improvement most likely! I probably had 30 attempts before the patch and about 15 after before it dropped.

I only realised last night theres actually separate sets for single and dual swords, both mentioning master swordsman. One is a 5 piece(single) and one a 6 piece (duals)

It works nicely though, iíve got it tempered and remodelled now with most at least +1

@jack5255 - yeah, it is quite annoying for inventory management. The old guy drops Light Master Swordsman armour and the dual swords dojo boss drops Heavy Master Swordsmans armour.

Im running 5 pieces of the heavy armour, missing out the chest piece as its ridiculously heavy and six just gives you a slight Ki recovery bonus.

@nickthegun ahh iíve not done the dual swords dojo stuff yet, thatís likely why iíve not noticed it until now.

Ironically i fight the sword master with dual swords, cheeky kick to the face to drain ki works wonders

Itís very satisfying to just melt a boss you previously struggled on with it.

Iíve got a load of active skill damage buffs and extra damage to poisoned enemies, so I lob a poison shuriken at them and then just go ham with it

I am torn between continuing Nioh or playing FF7 tonight 🤔.

I have been enjoying my play through, it has hit the Nioh 1 peak though where I am almost strolling through levels because I have fought the enemies so many times in the past.

How long do you reckon is left, I have just beaten the first mission in chapter 4.

Yeah it's 7, but the final one is just two main missions and one sub mission.

@Graxlar_v3 Ah, okay, I definitely didn't get this. I will have to have a go at it next time. Is it the bit directly by the entrance to the arena?

Oh and I am Sleepy_Haggis on PSN if anyone wants to add me for some help.

In area 5 now and the first mission boss caused me a lot of grief, a tonne of health, crazy damage and each clip causing a stagger to death.

Summoned in the end and couple came in and destroyed it.

Finally finished NG last night, level 125. Itís fair to say, I probably spent too much time dicking around with my build so I absolutely steamrolled the last three areas.

Apparently the last boss is one of the hardest in the game and I melted him in less than a minute.

But, yeah, I super duper enjoyed that. I enjoyed the story and whatnot better in the first one but the levels are generally a lot better in this. Iím thinking im going to park this now for a bit until the DLC completes.

Gulp. I just did the mid mission boss last night and thought he was hard enough. Bloody relentless.

Heís not bad for farming, drops a few good texts and a decent amount of amrita if you join a co-op session for that mission. He usually gets melted pretty quick too so not bad for a little boost!

That last mission in area 5 didn't hold back. I see it's very much following nioh 1 in terms of here's a battlefield mission, oh look now it's red and full of yokai with a huge yokai. Bit of a trudge with the boss but a fair fight. Still better than cowpider.

Finished NG this morning, Like Nickthegun, I definitely got carried away mid game and ending up being well OP and melted everything in area 6/7.

Not sick of it either, so probably going to head into NG+ now but more chill.

Fucking great game. Massive time sink waste of time, but a fucking great game.

So now a fair few of you have finished this how does it compare to the original? I think I'm on the 3rd area but I've not played for a few weeks because of doom and control.

It's a great sequel, it is without question more of the same, but improved in every aspect.

There's something about the co-op that just about tips it over to my favourite soulslike...though one thing I'd say is you can just become pretty much unstoppable, it's great to feel so OP but I guess at some point the bosses just have a brain fit and give up as you are tanking the shit out of them.

I love it, it's not leaving the disc tray for a while.

    + Better levels
    + Yokai Abilities are cool
    + Less difficulty spikes
    + A ton of content
+ I do like Burst counter now
+ Respeccing is a lot easier
+ Being able to re-roll attributes on weapons
+ Assigning attributes to skills is nice
+ Still the best soulsborne game to control or play. Combat is perfect.

    - The story, such as it is is worse. Doesnt reach a crescendo like the last one
    - The guardian spirits dont feel as important or useful
    - You have to pour a *lot* of stat buffs into Yokai shift to make it useful
    - Even then, its worse than living weapon
    - The two difficulty spikes that are there are worse than anything in the first one
    - A *lot* of recycled content
    - Soul Matching is still functionally useless
    - Theres so much gear it makes it hard to get the set you want without a smithing text
    - Smithing texts are still too hard to get

TLDR: Most of the changes are just to add a layer of strategy to the combat (what to buff, what to use) other than that, its Nioh with a worse story and better levels. YMMV.

It's just more Nioh. It's the Niohest Nioh they ever Nioh'd.

I haven't paid attention to the story in either of them, but combat and level design is a step up for me. Getting a touch fatigued with the endless sub missions but the main missions are fantastic. Did the ice level on the 3rd area last night and loved every minute of it.
