Registered 14 years agoThere's quest lines unique to each playable lord which grant you cool stuff and involve winning staged battles, but other than that it's about as story driven as other total war games. -

Registered 12 years agoI played Warhammer way back when in the 80s before there were any named characters and the lore was pretty basic - lots of fun but I think I preferred painting the miniatures just as much as the actual games I had with them.
When the first Shogun came out I'd not played Warhammer for 10 years, but the large scale battles sratched the same itch so to speak. I've sunk many hours into all of the Total War games since then, and despite some of the less than stellar game launches (Empire and RTW2) and duff AI, they've been my favourite single player PC game.
So yeah, I'm pretty happy at the moment with the prospect of getting Warhammer and Total War in one package, despite most of the Warhammer stuff being only partially recognisable from my memories from 30 years ago - mind you, that could be said about most things that happened 30 years ago unfortunately. I remember when all this was (battle)fields... -

Here’s what that time means for regions outside the UK.
West Coast US: Midnight, 24 May (as soon as the clock ticks over from 23 May).
East Coast US: 3am, 24 May.
Japan: 4pm, 24 May.
Australia: 5pm, 24 May.
For most of Europe, it’ll be 9am.
No VPN workaround

Registered 17 years agoDevs in the UK, release is likely to be 9am so that problems can be found and addressed during their working day. That's just a fairly convincing guess though -

Registered 17 years agoDamn it, I've got plans for this evening so those filthy green skins will be polluting our sacred dwarfen lands for a little bit longer.
I tend to play total war as though I have a Book of Grudges anyway so the dwarfs seem a good fit -
wait... people are not jumping straight into playing as green skins in this? -

Registered 7 years agoPerformance wasn't great for me from my brief go this morning.
It defaulted to high but my framerate was really shonky in the first battle.
No Nvidia drivers for this yet though so hopefully that'll help -
