@riceNpea Damn, you nailed it. I didn't, I ran out of cash. There's still a sticky bus ticket going for free though.

I'm impressed with the new expansion even though I've only played supply drop, the new maps look and play great in that mode. Not played for a while but going back to it I can easily say nothing can touch this game on the fps front imo.

Good to see the October patch hasn't caused any problems...

    I mean, FFS!

The icons now are vertually impossible to see, or don't appear at all - friendlies, enimies.

    Good work.

Server browser for Operations mode. Yay! Operations 40 patched out of the game. Nay!

My latent misanthropy is yet again stirred by the Battlefield playerbase embracing gamedesign nonesense. From 64-player Operation Métro to Operations 64 - it seems to me a majority of players have garbage sensibilities.

That said, I guess now I can get back into Operations mode, because even if Operations 64 is utter nonesense, I still massively prefer frontline combat over the chaos and downtimes and long treks of Conquest.

I get why DICE made Operations multi-map, and frontloaded each match with a narrative beat and history lesson. It sells well. A feature for critics and gaming news outlets to latch on to. Something to market.

I can't help but feel that this high concept approach to what Operations does - high playercount frontlines combat - hurt the game in the longrun. If Operations mode was built on a per map basis, I bet it would still be just as popular, or even more popular than Conquest at this point.

While Operations is fairly healthy on consoles, looking at it in the server browser, it just didn't work in matchmaking anymore, outside of being randomly shuffled into any Operation, and even then, I still landed in an empty server every now and again.

Operations does exactly what I want out of Battlefield when it comes to moment to moment gameplay. It's just a shame that DICE weighed it down with so much high concept baggage, which almost killed it. Hopefully it'll rethink that approach for future iterations.

Hoping for Frontlines Mode 64 for Battlefield 5, and every map being designed with that in mind first and foremost. If DICE nails that, that be gaming perfection in my book.
Apparently when the next dlc drops, Dice are introducing Operations with steroids. That is combining 2 Operations to make one mega Operations. Some will be premium only, but the vanilla game will get at least one.

As to the issue, mentioned in my previous post, about team/enemy icons being virtually impossible to see - this is a deliberate nurf. The idea being that is if you spot a player the red blob isn't so in your face... I guess that's okay, but I'm fed up shooting my own teammates, your team icons need to go back to what is was.

Wouldn't say it's that bad but yes insee your point in regards to vast open areas. I have enjoyed frontlines from the first dlc much more.

I think you should write to your MP. Definitely a Brexit negotiations priority.

Do people generally think Medics are pointless?
Medic is my favourite class! The only other class I bother with these days is Support, but 90% of the times I stick with Medic. I love the rifles and the medi-kits are always helpful. Especially in defensive situations.

Console CTE has been updated for the Turning Tides maps - DICE are running another test tonight, in about an hour.

Just played for the first time in ages. To me it seems like the game is loads better. I can move five steps without instantly dying. I even managed a positive kd. Did they increase health or something?

I dunno what, but something is better.

    Is it worth getting Premium?

Picked up the Premium today as it's 70% off.

Aside from Tsaritsyn being a strong contender for most atrocious BF map of all time, right up there with Iron Gator, is the performance fucking awful for anyone else? It absolutely tanks my framerate.

Game seems less spammy than when I last played, though tank drivers still need to stop picking tanks with multiple gunner positions but then never pointing the gunners at anything.

Yeah I’m not a fan of that map either. Frame rate seems fine on my Xbox. Worth a hard reboot perhaps.

I’ve recently discovered that I really like the Domination game mode. Perfect for playing a few quick games with randoms.

Picked up the premium pass for 12 quid on xbox last night. Really enjoying the expansion content. There are a couple of duds, but most of the new maps are pretty cool.

I'm glad I didn't pay full price for it though, some of the weapon unlock assignments are just silly. Just give me what I paid for!

I forgot how long grinding class levels takes too. I only reached level 3 in assault and 7 in support/medic in 30 hours...

Bought the Season Pass at -70% as well.

Joined a match.... cannot join or create a squad.

    What the actual fuck?

This has been out for more than a year and they still haven't fixed this bug?

I tooam looking at the season pass even though I don't play it very much. Had a game the other day and had some enjoyment and at £12 for 16 more maps plus other bits and pieces like new modes, it's certainly tempting, I'm guessing it's sold poorly and ea seem to be trying to come away from player fragmentation finally these days.

Not sure it's anything to do with poor sales. The Battlefield season passes have always seen big discounts toward the end of the "season". I think they see a smaller discount half way through as well.

The past couple of Battlefields I've played at launch until the first expansion is released then put it on hold until the season pass gets reduced. When you return it's pretty much a whole new game.

New maps are definitely a mixed bag so far. The combined arms maps seem good, but the attempts at infantry focused ones are pretty dire from what I've seen of them. Tsaritsyn was just awful, and Prise De Tahure, while not as bad, is just boring. And the visibility sucks. This is the problem with actual dark night maps - everyone just turns the brightness up to counteract it...

I think I already know the answer but... When replacing the regular disc version of the BF1 with the digital BF1 Revolution. Do you need to download the entire game or does it just update the data that's already on the hard drive?.

I've been giving this another go and really enjoying operations. Would love that mode in BF4.
