Registered 9 years agoGreat stuff chaps, thanks!
I treated myself to Dishonored 2 as I got a Pro the same week it came out, then played it for two hours and got distracted before lending it to a mate who has finally finished it 10 months after I gave it to him! So will smash that and then pick up the Death of the Outsider whatsit down the line

@DUFFMAN5 PS4! I went for Dishonored in the end, as shopto have both for under a tenner. Crazy. I do want Prey though. I'll keep reading up on it. -

Registered 17 years agoI am taking my time with Death of the Outsider; lots of great ideas and
locations so far but when it is done then there are no more Dishonored worlds to conquer.
As you'd expect, there is a lot of asset reuse in Karnaca but there are also new places and interiors. I particularly like the Turkish baths locations and the use of song audiographs so far.
Very nervous about the next announcement from Arkane. It must be very expensive to make these games, the visual research is like nothing else I have seen in gaming and the playtesting must be off the charts (quality is very high). The Outsider was probably my least favourite part of Dishonored - a part 3 without the emo content would be amazing. -
So I haven’t played either Dishonoured 2 or Death of the outsider ! There both roughly the same price. Which one should i pick up ? Number 2 first or doesn’t it matter -

Dishonored 2 without a doubt, it is usually £10 now as well so 50% cheaper than DotO. -

2 crashes and only 3 hours in. Nice. -
I completed it tonight. It's very much as good as the first if not slightly better in places. I think my main gripe from the first is still there, with it doesn't quite get the stealth spot on. As in I feel like there's a huge element of get good to it. It sort of breaks the flow of the game, as it feels more intended to be stealth, but 80% of the time is fucking up, and reloading to get it perfect, or what if I did this instead. Of course it's more down to me as a player, than the game, but I dunno I never really struggled with hitman. -

Registered 13 years agoI don't think it's just you, the gameplay has a real emphasis on play-mistake-quickload. It's why I gave up on stealth and just became Emily "The Strangler" Kaldwin. -
I guess it would be a huge hassle to do development wise, but if you could shift time throughout the whole game to avoid enemies that would be pretty awesome. I loved that level. -

Registered 13 years agoI just started playing this (dishono(u)red 2) a few nights ago and it makes me sad that death of the outsider may be the last game in this series. It's a shame stealth games in this mold don't do well enough

Registered 9 years agoI’ve tried my best to get into this since getting it on release. I loved 1 and all the dlc on PS3, and had 2 playthoughs of the Definitive Edition in anticipation for 2.
I cant quite put my finger on why but right from the intro something didn’t feel right compared to the genius of the 1st.
Did anyone else find the intro terribly written and too ‘easy’ to be interesting? “Sorry love, coup time you’re off the throne.”
Maybe I just don’t have the patience for it anymore. -

Get to Karnaca before you give up. The first level is the weakest in the game. -

Registered 12 years agoI've been playing this again now that it's got a patch on Xbox One X (and it looks like a completely different game, it's beautiful).
Just about to enter Jindosh's mansion and I'd honestly forgotten how much I loved this the first time around. I did a zero kills Emily run the first time, and now I'm going full-on Supernatural Murderbastard with Corvo

Registered 12 years agoStill 30, but it has higher quality textures (and obviously a much higher resolution).
I would have liked a FoV slider myself, but it is what it is. The game looks amazing now. -

Registered 12 years agoNot really, no. The CPU bump is too small to double the framerate. Some games, like Gears 4, have an unlocked performance mode (I'm sure some do on the Pro as well), but this isn't one of them. -

The X looks great though. I've gone through other way and bought a switch. Used my kids as justification.

I'm torn between getting this or Prey? Someone decide for me.

Registered 12 years agoThe X is fantastic. It's small and quiet, and games as old as Ninja Gaiden Black have received improvements!
The Switch is a great machine as well. I'm considering double-dipping on Resi Revelations 2 to play Raid mode on the go

Registered 17 years agoCompleted DotO this morning, after returning to it after a few months. Overall had lots of fun. I did hate the feckin bank mission with a passion though!
I will prob play through ng+ at some point in the future. -

Registered 4 years agoManaged to break the last level last night so the ending wouldn't start. Managed to skip nearly the whole level and went straight to the boss fight with all the objectives still there. .gif)
Turns out after sorting the final fight out the enemies around the level vanish so I had to go back and do the objectives for the ending to trigger. I did all the objectives carrying the corpse of the last target.
.
New game + after I finish outer world's as I've never done that and it will be cool to have all the powers on those first few levels. Or maybe a no power playthrough??? That sounds painful though. -

Registered 10 years agoConsidering I loved the first, I’ve still not gone back to this and I’ve had it since launch. I know I’ve done the mansion level but can’t remember how much further I got. I’m off next week so may take a gander but between outer worlds and destiny I think I’m a little full. -

Definitely give it a proper go when you get the chance. It's one of the best games this gen IMO.
