I liked the bit where Jeremy said something racist and James done a face.

I thought it was a decent start, the real meat of the show was certainly better than a hell of a lot of Top Gear has been in recent years.

Hopefully someone tells Chris to be a lot less shouty in the studio parts in future.
Yes. Less shouting, and every bit doesn't need a gimmick, many of the best bits were just a great car in the right setting.

Two chases in one show was a little over the top that's true.

I like the bit where Jeremy Clarkson and James May weren't on it, getting up to supposedly hilarious antics with Richard Hammond (who I like when he's doing his own thing).

Thank god somebody finally started s thread for Top Gear. All these years there's been so much to say about it. All those controversies and nowhere to discuss it. It seems so simple now to start a thread but only user boo had the presence of mind and clarity of vision to do what only seems obvious in hindsight. You sir are a maverick. A pioneer. A goddam hero.
And you're someone who used to be funny but these days only seems capable of being a sarcastic dick.
    you go boo!

I think the Dodge Viper was my first car porn car. That one was pretty alright.

If they carry on like that, at best it will be a poor copy of the later years of Old Top Gear.

At worst... it will be the same with SHOUTING.

Yep, sounds like I didn't miss much missing the first half hour of this, but I enjoyed most of the second half. Music choice was a bit shocking though - that was Oasis wasn't it?

Thought it was okay myself. Improved in some areas, needs work in others. Chris was a little too "Chris", but that may be first night nerves. I thought Matt was unexpectedly good. Overall, better than the yawnfest the old series had become.

Here's Eisenberg in a rare public showing that, under the surface, the 3/4 of the berg is also made of cunt

Was that for reals though? Seemed like they were playing who's the biggest arsehole before playing hide the sausage

No, that's him being a cunt to someone who hadn't got much experience but was strong enough to call him on his assholery which clearly doesn't happen enough.

Edit: the clip is edited weirdly, the bit at the end where he's doing the ident and it looks flirty happened before the rest of it

Yeah you're best off watching the poor colleague puncher on little known independent outlet 'Amazon', not this evil incarnation of your favourite played out TV show.

Matt wasn't bad too bad and he's also aged pretty well. Enjoyed his bits. Chris was his usual excitable self, not sure if I can tolerate him in large doses.

Also - and I don't quite know what I was expecting here - but it looked exactly like Top Gear, in the way it was shot, and the cutaways and whatnot.

Was expecting it to be worse than it was actually.

Swap Chris Evans with Chris Harris and I'd be more happy to accept the carbon copy

Yeah reading up it sounds a lot different to how the edit makes it seem. The guy reminds me of woody Allen, who I can vouch for being a massive nutsack too.

Evans' style of presenting may be tolerable for TBB, TFI, radio, but not for Top Gear imo. It's jarring.

Chris Harris should be fronting this, a great car journalist who can actually drive fast at a semi professional level with a genuine passion for cars. Quite enjoyed LeBlanc's dead pan contribution but Evans just gives me an instant headache.

He's too bloody loud on the radio too!
I've never listened to his radio shows only seen him on tv, but I'll take your word for it :D

I'm just hoping that Evans is the transitional anchor, the safe hands to carry over between the eras, before someone like Harris takes the reigns.
