It's not on tonight then because some sports casual mongs in Farah's are twatting their balls around a field?
They couldn't put it on later, or via the iPlayer, like we're actually in this century?

Six and a half great episodes and then half an hour that rather tarnishes them. Not really interested in Bernie Ecclestone whining or how a car should be a mediocre boat.

They've got a lot to answer for- our lad has already asked if we can turn my car into a boat.

Bernie Ecclestone came across like a completely unlikable cunt. I'm not entirely unsurprised by that.

Yep. Enjoyable episode. One of the weaker ones of the series but it's been knocking it out of the park week after week. Bernie 'I'm stinking rich' Ecclestone can fuck off though.

Question is, is he more or less unlikeable than Eddie Jordan? If only we'd had advance warning of that meeting, I'm sure one of us could procure a few pounds of c4 to put under that table and get rid of two of the most odious people on TV in one go.

I skipped the Ecclestone stuff. Boat thing was gloriously fun, Rory was having a great time and it was infectious.

Jay Kay is such an arse he's actually weirdly likeable with it.

Jay Kay now seems okay compared to modern knobheads.

So yeah, er, thanks for the link from the other thread that google would only find for me. New series started last week; if you missed the first episode I wouldn't suggest iplayering it. It was alright, but not much more.

It’s as watchable as it ever was, I don’t think it was ever unmissable tv but good Sunday night background viewing

I enjoyed both episodes (first more than this week). It's not the most amazing thing in the world but it's a lot better than the grand tour and better than old TG. Rory must have been a bit miffed missing out on the trip though. He was hardly in this week.

I thought the first episode was alright, certainly better than the grand tour.  Obviously it's all scripted but it did feel a little more improvised and the "banter" is a bit more friendly than that of the GTour.

I'm not too keen on Rory but mental Sabine is great.

Just caught up with tonights. That was more my style; harris getting a fast car to test out, and the tour was daft but had some quite cool vehicles in it. The less said about Lee Mack in the reasonably fast car the better though.

The camera work on RFC is frustrating. Two weeks now there's been major "moments" and the camera has been pointing at the driver's face rather than them showing the car sliding round.

I don't know how long they can keep up with Chris's "unpleasant" persona. It's hard to believe Chris and Matt are best mates when the most genuine comment was Matt calling him an asshole.

Also, on 6 episodes this season, so we're already a third of the way through. BBC lost interest?

It's much better than the grand tour. The grand tour is just them 3 idiots mucking around for 45mins with a 15 min car segment. Top gear is atleast 90% cars with some scripted stuff thrown in. Rory does get on my nerves a bit though.

Rory was on screen for 20 seconds. How can you work up the anger based on that amount of screen time?

Episode 2 of the new Top Gear is probably the best episode of the past 10 years.

It’s managed to keep the silliness but lose the smart arse knobiness

Mainly as a result of getting rid of Grumpy, Dozy and Pillock

I'm a little surprised people are enjoying this more than the Grand Tour. Yes, the Grand Tour is just more of the same from Clarkson and the gang, and it feels more scripted and less organic than the old Top Gear, but I still find it entertaining on some level and it feels fresh in some ways.

In contrast, last week I had to switch off episode 1 of the new Top Gear half way through because I thought it was awkward, every single line of banter felt overly scripted and badly delivered, and I felt like I'd seen the "test out 3 muscle cars on a mini road trip" scenario at least twice before. It all just felt too rigid and stale.

I'll give episode 2 a chance before abandoning Top Gear altogether though.

I dunno about it. My wife thinks it shambolic. I think it's perfectly watchable just a little forced in places. They're still trying to keep the same premise which I think is an error, thought that would have changed after Evans left.

Still nice cars, with the odd chuckle for a Sunday night, nowhere near the unmissable top gear or yesteryear

Rory is the weakest of the three. He comes across as very bland. If you asked me to describe in three words, I don't think I could. Bland, boring, uninteresting?

    Three words? 'The Token Black'?
