Just wanted to promote this place a bit as it's amazing. They have as ton of classic arcade games, pinball tables, retro consoles, even an Oculus Rift. £10 in and you can play as much as you want everythings on free play, food and drink is cheap (50p for a can of coke) and its a good atmosphere. If you're into your old arcade games or just want a four player MarioKart N64 this will be the best tenner you ever spend.

Went for the first time last night and off the top of my head I played the like of TMNT, Wonderboy, Operation Wolf, House Of The Dead 2 and 4, Donkey Kong, Paper boy (with handle bar controller), Chase HQ 2 (full cabinet), Silent Scope, the list goes on.

It's a truly amazing place and all for a tenner! Well worth a trip.

Guessing they don't serve alcohol? There are a chain of places like this in America called Player One, which are basically bars filled with retro arcades and modern game consoles and they are amazing, have a really great atmosphere.

But I'm guessing these are more 'family friendly'?

Meaning kids and pre teens running around taking up all the machines....?

I am thinking about going here soon with my wife and son at some point as my arcade machines are a bit inaccessible now. He likes games so should be a good day out for him.

@M83J01P97 Bottle of beer 2 quid. There wasnt a lot fo kids when I went. Ones in their early teens. The opening times means theres not that many kids there Friday and Saturday nights I imagine. That video makes it look rammed but when I went there was maybe thirty people there.

Nice one, I'll take my lads up there next Saturday.
Probably get some black pudding on the market while I'm there.

I probably go once a month with mates or my kids. Love the place. You could probably spend half an hour on a pc and download most of the games there but it doesn't compare with actually playing on the actual machine.

Going to take my 7 year old nephew up there on Sunday, he'll shit a brick when he see all those games. Then he'll say he's bored after half an hour, the YouTube generation!

Absolutely fantastic looking place. Watching the video link bought back so many memories of a misspent youth spent throughout the 80's and early 90's in dark dingy dirty arcades spending 10p's like they were going out of fashion. The days when the arcade was the king, sadly missed.

Does it have Robocop? I'd love to play that on a proper arcade again

Not too far from me so I'll have to visit

Surprised the site's not been linked in this thread before. No Robocop as far as I can see, but there's probably something in that list to pique your interest.

I created a thread for this when it opened. It's awesome! The owner Andy and his family are properly passionate about retro gaming and love to see people playing the machines.

I can't speak highly enough of Arcade Club. The whole atmosphere is fantastic, and a lot of hard work has gone into it, and continues to go into it.

Going this weekend with a few mates I haven't seen in ages, can't wait :)

That looks great. Started taking an interest in arcade stuff after watching 'John's Arcade' on Youtube- guys a fanatic. Would like to take the lad there when he's a bit older and hopefully check it out before then. Bury isn't a million miles away from Stoke.

I wonder if the owner is anyone I know (either online or from meets/purchases) from my UKVAC/JAMMA+ days.

It's fantastic, I was talking to the lady who owns it with her son and they've pretty much put all their savings into the place. She mentioned that they'd bought the floor below at the units they're in as they've another 200 games in storage that they don't have room for, with additional plans to have a stage for live bands to play while people play the games.

Brilliant place and wish them all the luck in the world!

That's a great idea. Couldn't think of a more suitable place for a group of geeks off a gaming forum to meet up.

It looks worth a visit. It does appear to have a slight 8mm vibe though...

Went yesterday and it is an excellent place.
Didn't try the snacks but they had some cool gaming related paraphernalia on sale.

Stars of the show for me was the Ikaruga machine which was incredible to play, and the kids loved the quick draw Namco thing where you shoot a cup on the last round ( how do they do that?!?).

Another nice touch was a deodorant spray in the men's toilet along with the handsoap...
