I thought that was a given? It is a Hideo Kojima game. (And one where a Publisher is not trying to pull him back to reality).

    It's not a lot but, it's something :)

Death Stranding: Mads Mikkelsen Risks His Life to Talk About Kojima's Game

Here’s what Mikkelsen had to say about Death Stranding

You play a major role in Death Stranding, the upcoming video game from Metal Gear series creator Hideo Kojima. There’s a lot of mystery around that game and the trailers have all been very confusing. Can you tell me what it’s about?

I’m not allowed. No. He (Kojima) is just keeping his cards close. I mean, I said something last year and I had eight people show up in my house with guns (he’s joking!). He’s spilling the leaks when it happens.

What I can say is that I’ve never seen anything like it. He’s a genius and it’s beyond anything we can imagine. It’s just a completely different world.

Does that apply to the technical side of the game too? The motion capture technology that’s being used to put you in the game?

The whole thing, the way the story evolves and technique as well.

'POLAR. I think the scene of Mads that his fan is looking forward to is drenched Mads, bloody Mads, tighten Mads, tear in eyes Mads, smoking Mads, drinking hard Mads, wearing glasses Mads, naked Mads in freeze, dancing Mads, Running Mads. DS has most of the Mads you wanna see too.' - Hideo Kojima

By the sounds of thing's, Mads Mikkelsen is going for an Oscar, pulling out all the stops for Death Stranding

'Death Stranding's PS4 Release Will "Take A While"

Hideo Kojima recently posted a comment that suggested Death Stranding might not make 2019
    2019 might become 2020, 2021, 2022, who knows.

No wonder his games takes so long to create. Kojima appears spend a lot of time on Twitter, Tweeting - Retweeting, reading books, watching movies, checking out new albums, posing with stuff sent to him, posing with people visiting the studio, travelling around the world.

If it all helps in form a decent game that fine.
Fingers crossed, 2019 is the year.

    How did you guess?

Death Stranding is the only game on my want's list.
    For the moment.

A couple of other games worth consideration include:
    Judgement
    Ghost Of Tsushima
    Mortal Kombat XI

It's looking more and more like a PS6 launch title.

It could end up being a PS5 launch title.

Thinking back to Metal Gear Solid V: TPP
That was a PS3 game that ran at 30fps. It came out at the same time for the PS4, which boasted improved performance that included 60fps, better lighting, and the lead character had an extra layer of skin (exclusive to PS4) to make him look more life like, something Kojima is into.

Death Stranding could end up looking like a PS4 Pro title running on a PS5 with the extra power being sprinkled here and there.

I'd rather it came out in 4 years, fully optimised as a standalone title for the PS5 than be one of those no-mans-land, cross-gen games where the next gen version is clearly being held back by its red-headed step brother.

i.e: More than half of the PS4 titles ever released

The Death Stranding trailer shown during E3 2018 offered possibly the biggest insight as to what the game involves, partly atleast, as unlike previous trailers, the E3 trailer showed game play footage. During one scene, Sam (Norman Reedus) appears to be trapped inside an old building, which is surrounded by ‘things’ (mysterious misty black floating particles) who appear to be blind and rely on sound to track the living.

During this scene, Sam is contacted / in contact with (presumably via radio signal) a male who speaks -
‘Sam if one of those things eats you.. it will trigger a void-out.. you'll come back sure.. but the surrounding area will still be a crater..’

Presumably, void-out points to a black hole / time travel ?
Being eaten results in time travel, not death.
Quite what the significance is, of an area remaining as a crater is unclear? Obviously, craters are not desirable.
Presumably, Sam, who makes deliveries, needs to get the (delivery) job done, and not be sent back.
During one scene, Sam appears to have a package on his back that resembles a body, presumably a dead body?
Presumably, for one reason or another, the ‘things’ don’t want deliveries completed.

Another thing that backs up the time travel concept. During one scene, when the ‘things’ show up, a photo featuring an old woman (Lindsay Wagner) an older version of Sam and a younger girl (his daughter?) can be seen on the ground. At the end of the trailer, the same woman, looking a whole lot younger turns around. She can be heard saying - ‘you're too late.. you still don't know who I am do you?..’
Presumably, Sam traveled back in time, and can’t remember who the woman is, even although, in the future, he carries a photo of her. ‘you’re too late..’ points out the fact Sam has failed, as on the beach , the woman is surround by dead sea creatures.

Sam walks while carrying a body on his back, and its no effort at all?
This is one area that could use fixing - make Sam walk slower?

Either Sam possess superhuman strength, or it's a slight oversight on behalf of the designers. CoD4 featured a section that required the player to carry a wounded soldier, and the players speed was hindered.

On March 12th 2019 there was a tweet from Hideo Kojima
One of the images showed what appeared to be the White House

I got thinking about the Bridges clothing patch, that depicts what appears to be a web that incorporates a map. The patch also contains the words ‘The United Cities of America’

Having overlaid an image of the US over the Bridges patch, the center of the web is Washington D.C.

Does Kojima talk to you in your head? Does he tell you to do strange things with blancmange when no one else is around?

I've been a fan of Kojima's games in the past but this just looks like massive self indulgent guff. MGSV was the final nail personally. Sounds like he got Troy Baker to reprise his role as jarring Revolver Ocelot too.

The credits rolling after every mission was quite unbelievavble to me. It was like Tarrantino self indulgence times 10.

@captain-Snufkin forgot all about that, wiped it from memory. Just fucking bizarre that game was. A strange fuck you to Konami who did everything to wipe his name but couldn't be arsed to play test enough to check but clamped down on it enough so we ended up with a shallow nonsense story and a silent protagonist after getting Keifer in. No one won on that game, as good as the gameplay was.

Kojima himself and his studio are tweeting videos right now, seems that something big is happening on Wednesday 29th in relation to Death Stranding...
