Irreconcilable differences I'm afraid. They have impoverished us, painted us as inhumane jingoists in the eyes of the world, and emboldened those who would see Europe weaken and fail.

Getting a bit cheesed off with the outpouring of righteous indignation on social media. It really isn't very helpful to accuse everyone who voted 'leave' of racism and small mindedness. It also isn't true.

But I'll bet each person who voted 'Remain', while they were in the booth, had in mind at least one person that they knew who would be 'cancelling out' their vote with racism and small-mindedness. Of couse the numbers don't add up, as that could be a many-to-one relationship (to use maths terms) but it's hard not to think of the bigot who, in your mind, nullified your vote.

It's good to see people passionate about politics.

I appreciate that there may be communities who feel that haven't benefited from being a member of the EU but there is also a very large protest/anti immigration sentiment propelling the leave campaign and it's disingenuous to pretend otherwise.

Read this and bear in mind Cornwall voted Leave: http://www.itv.com/news/westcountry/update/2016-06-24/cornwall-pleas-for-reassurance-it-will-not-be-worse-off-following-brexit-vote/
    Thanks

That £350 million is going to be like the Scottish oil money, promised to be spent numerous times over, then vanish when it actually comes to giving it to the public
Well it was a mistake, really.

I wonder if there were another referendum tomorrow, would the result be the same? Seemingly so many people saying they didn't think their vote would count/didn't think it would really happen.

@FogHeart yup, my dad and I voted together. I had to vote remain just to cancel his vote.

I'm just saying: the sudden down turn is NOT a permanent fixture, and trying to say it's an indication of what's going to to happen over the next couple of years is knee-jerk reaction.

When big stuff like this happens, there's always going to be growing pains and people panicking. The important thing is that we don't waste this chance to see if things could indeed be better if we just gave the situation a chance.

There's just been a bloke on the local news asked by a reported why he voted leave:

"It seemed like that was what everyone else was going to do, so I just followed suit"

I think your use of phrases like "growing pains" to sum up economic uncertainty that's going to cost countless jobs and lives indicates how little you understand the magnitude of the situation.

Seeing as Britain emulates America in so many ways these days, I wonder how much relevance Trump and his current success has had in the voters decision? It might have been a small factor, but it couldn't of helped.

That is enormously depressing. Why do people think their vote wouldn't make any fucking difference? Do they not know how voting works?

So at one point do you brexiters think you might start regretting your vote?

Here's one of the mind changers. Probably already been posted in the other thread.

A woman who voted to Leave the European Union on Thursday has said that she is "very disappointed" by the results.

The woman, identified only as Mandy, spoke at Manchester Airport, saying that "reality" has now hit her and that given her chance again she would vote to remain.

The student said her decision was due to "the pressure of being told" by the two competing sides who she should vote for.
Where my wife works two of the 8 people in her office really meant to vote Remain but were too busy and didn't get around to it. From the TV interviews, etc. we're seeing people who voted Leave but didn't realise it'd actually happen.

The voter turnout was 72% with a roughly 50:50 voting split. So that's about a third who really wanted to leave, a third who really wanted to stay and a third who didn't quite get around to voting or picked the wrong one and might vote differently now.

    DAMN IT PEOPLE!!!

@Razz yes. Europe is a continent not the union.
