It's genius isn't it? No need to bankrupt your whole economy in a futile arms race, just fire in some trolls and fake news in a few grands worth of FB adverts!
Pretty much yeah. Imagine dictators in years gone by being able to spread propaganda in a foreign nation directly to the hands of possibly likeminded people. All under the guise of free-speech.

All while delegitimizing fact-based news sources to the point where people won't trust them.

The Tories don't want to and Labour aren't brave enough so the hard Brexit outcome preferred by our misguided party leaders will win

Since both main party leadership teams have expressed anti-migrant worker sentiments I suppose it's not surprising but it's a bit too depressing to call a victory even for the ones who want it

Urgh these two are the worst.

Also what's the deal with the rollercoaster? Is that some kind of great British institution that I'm not aware of?

Meanwhile the Scottish Sun goes with an Old Firm WAG eating pills and smoothies made from placentas. Possibly her own, I didn't get that far.

Because half of the UK's nations didn't vote for this nonsense.

Look, there's sheep in that Sun picture for Wales... and Nessie for Scotland. See, Britain is great!

(No idea if there's anything in there for NI)

This is now the "democracy" we live in.

@Anna_Soubry goes public with rumour doing rounds: "at least one" MP will not vote with their conscience on Brexit today because of "threats to their personal safety, to a member of their parliamentary staff and members of their family"

The Banks Wigmore interview is a perfect example of why we all fucked.

Whenever Banks or Wigmore get caught out on a lie or falsehood they just admit they lied but it wasn't a lie to further an agenda. They just didn't have time to look up the facts or liked to tease journalists. All innocent lying.

If the committee makes a mistake Banks and Wigmore state this entire thing is a witch hunt concocted from the information of fantasists, the fake news media , and remainers trying to stop brexit..

If that's true then Jesus wept. The gammon making the threats is probably telling themselves that they're facilitating democracy and the Will Of The People. Unless it's David Davis threatening do some weekend SAS shit to them.

I think the hearing showed their total contempt for UK democratic system and their opportunism.

Banks declaring he ran a negative campaign on immigration and borders to target old labour areas. Stating facts are not important to winning elections and his admiration for Donald Trump.

Not even empty threats. Coupled with the threats on the front page of The Express this morning, it really is a depressing situation.

Was in the gallery today watching this shit show. The opulence of that place!

I'm really not that sure about that. The end result will be we take what we are given and unless we allow freedom of movement we are not getting much from the EU.

I fully expect close to a crashing out.

It's just can kicking. It doesn't solve anything at the moment. If the PM's promises re amendments once the Bill reaches ping pong don't come to pass, then there will be amendments to the customs/trade bill later in the autumn.

Meaningful vote is such a weird term. Like what does the government present? Shit deal or no (i.e. shitter) deal?

The problem still lies in the substance and the massive parliamentary opposition to trade/regulatory links and free movement. That's where the people get screwed, in the detail.

So - as expected - my Leave loving Labour MP rebelled against his Leave loving leader to vote against a meaningful vote.

You'd think Labours general hard Brexit stance would be enough for an old time leaver but no he's backing May to do it all the way. Bloody dinosaur.

John Mann? According to that the other Labour rebels toed the line on the "meaningful" vote. Not that any of it means anything.

Whoops, maybe it's not displayed on my phone properly. I meant Ronnie Campbell. He definitely sided with the government on something tonight (and has consistently since the referendum)

The record for that particular amendment has him voting yes. May have sided with the government on other ones. Wonder why he gets a Mr title and the others don't.

    He's really really old?

BBC has him generally being on the gov side all night but then it's basically his thing these days. It's what all those craggy old timers like Frank Field and Dennis Skinner get up. Praised for principle while selling constituents out to a Tory disaster Brexit.

Won't matter as the EU will be blamed for not giving Britannia everything she demands.

Abbott gets Ms. Some do, some don't. I should know why, but don't.

A Brexit destructive enough to force the Tories out but which leaves the Treasury with a budget surplus big enough for large scale renationalisation.

I don't see any flaw in the Bennite gamble.

But yes, FWB is right. Any future failings will be the fault of bloody Brussels and the remoaners anyway. Just like it's been Brussels holding us back before now.

Although at least the prehistoric socialists have a post-Brexit vision. For Tory leavers the day we're cut loose is the end of the plan. Leave and then ??? Profit?
