Taking back more control part 14515115

Google is planning to move its British usersí accounts out of the control of European Union privacy regulators, placing them under U.S. jurisdiction instead, sources said.

The shift, prompted by Britainís exit from the EU, will leave the sensitive personal information of tens of millions with less protection and within easier reach of British law enforcement.
Its actually happened this morning - can only hope the US gets a decent President this time

The points system proposed is ridiculous!

Iím a supporter of a points based immigration but the Tories bang on about the Australia system, the Australia system actually INCREASES economic migration, not reduce it!

And the way they are treating low paid workers is a joke!

I heard that some people who voted Brexit (no-one here) are shocked there's a points based immigration and bad treatment of low paid workers. What did they think was going happen?and wasn't that what they voted for as they knew what they voting for?

Boris Johnson just gave a clear signal he plans to ditch UK food standards to secure a Trump trade deal
despite saying it was all Bullshit and project fear, its going to happen. I know gammon cretins saying chlorine is fine but its not the chlorine that's the problem, its the standards that require the use of chlorine for meat in the first place.

I think we all knew Boris would lie about everything. Also I bet companies will change the labelling so you don't know what its actually from. It may just have "packaged in the UK".

    https://www.businessinsider.sg/boris-johnson-break-eu-uk-food-standards-wto-chlorinated-chicken-2020-2-2/

(Maybe we get some chlorine wash in this thread, it stinks of rotten corpse in here again)

I think Gammons will be foaming at the mouth when they find out there will "more browns" with brexit trade deals as its been said before countries like India and turkey to name 2 want work permits for its citizens to work in the UK in exchange for trade deals.

Really brexit was selling off the UK for disaster capitalists and tanking the pound to make Boris' friend richer, while gammons gave it them on racist gammon plate

We're hearing a lot about what standards Boris is willing to ditch in order to get a Trump trade deal, but what does the UK get in return? Do British farmers get preferential treatment, reduced taxes, etc on their produce to the states, in exchange for th chlorinated chicken?

With Trump's 'America First' rhetoric, I doubt any trade deals will benefit both nations equally.

What we get from a 'deal' with the US is a deal - it'll be a terrible deal (for the UK) and a great deal for the US, but this is what happens when you burn your bridges with the big trading bloc on your doorstep and have to go cap in hand to whoever you can. And of course the rich elite in the UK will benefit financially, but fuck the rest of us eh?

Perhaps a bit industry specific but this is genuinely depressing: https://www.theguardian.com/education/2020/feb/25/academics-refused-permanent-uk-visas-because-of-field-trips-abroad

I have several friends and ex-colleagues facing similar challenges. It is utterly farcical and belies a fundamental ignorance at the heart of the Tories' attitude to both academic research and immigration in general.

Remember when you were young and naive, and you took it for granted that there would always at least be some fucking adults in the room who knew what they were doing? ... yeah ...
