As a someone who's trained in the art of the nunchacku I pray that now we're free of this draconian EU law I'll free to practice my nunchacku without prejudice.

Similar to the nunchaku scene edited out of Bruce Lee's Enter the Dragon (I think).

It was also mildly amusing that the cartoon was called Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles in the UK for years, because "ninja" was deemed too dangerous a word.

They totally edited out Panthro's "nunchucks', I'm sure of it.

    Judid.

I call bullshit, you can't have had time to train nunchucks AND fly the blimp

I've seen some of the 80s British shows. Fuck me, ninja nunchucks were the least of your problems

I'm sure I remember him flinging them about. In the intro at least.

Theory: The nunchucks were removed so kids couldn't defend themselves against Rolf Harris.

However short were cartoons in the UK if violence was edited out, and there were minimal if any adverts?!

The average cartoon consisted of the opening credits, Droopy saying "oh boy" and the closing credits.

When I was a nipper I had a tape with a thundercats episode on it, saw the same bloody episode over and over

It was the one with SAFARI JOE

A kid at my school reckoned he had some nunchucks but they were just some grips from his bike handlebars attached each end to some copper thick wire which just sort of bent sadly.

He was still a ninja to us. A hero to you

I drew naked April O'Neil pictures and fashioned my own nunchucks at home.

The censors couldn't control my passions.

Didn't Thundercats air on British TV years after He-Man was past the height of it's popularity?

It's more a case of Thundercats being the new version of He-Man for the next generation of kids. Then, in turn Thundercats was replaced by Ninja Turtles for the next generation* of kids.

    * I call it a generation for reasons of convenience, but it's actually a span of about four or five years, enough time for kids to move onto secondary school or leave school entirely.

I've just realised how many anthropomorphic cat people I fancied when I was a kid. Cheetara, Simba's girlfriend (when she was older, I'm not a kittiephile) the one off dogtanion and the muskahounds. I don't think I started liking non cat females until I was about 15. Looking back I really was a strange little boy.
