    True Detective?

I enjoyed this season more than the 2, neither is as good as the first but I wouldn't call it shit.
Very good shout. I was racking my brain for ages there.

    I'd say Westworld too.

I was going to say True Detective but 'world wide sensation' wouldn't have been accurate. Let's say going from a really strong and respected first season to shitting be bed. There's probably a few there.

Westworld seems more apt as everyone was talking about season 1 despite the fact I thought it was an overly smug wankfest that no amount of cute Radiohead covers could salvage to a second season where it seems to have (rightfully?) drifted out of the popular conscience.

Although I only remember BB as a whole thing. I certainly don't remember season 2 being a drop off in quality. If so I'm pretty sure I would have binned it.

Oh god yes. Season 1 started really well, for me ended poorly then 2 was just dull as fuck. No idea why I persisted considering just how pointless it is.

The reverse for Znation which started poorly, got better for 2 then jumped off a cliff.

Breaking Bad series 2 was awful. I really struggled though it after being riveted to the first one. I'm glad I managed to get through it, but boy was it a slog...

Season 3 of the walking dead was superb. Most of 4 was good as well. It started going shit from S5 onwards...well for me anyway.

I really liked season 3, season 1 had mystery and sense of discovery, 2 was as if they had run out of ideas (and sense of humour) where as season 3 was just fun. Camp ridiculous fun.

Just finished this, not as good as the first 2 and full of flaws but enjoyable, I thought they went a bit OTT with the cheesiness/clichés though.

It was, a fucking amazing demo for an OLED HDR TV, utterly stunning to watch, between the funfair/black scenes and the fireworks it was amazing visually.

I thought El's acting was good, she's a lab experiment FFS, seemed bang on to me.
I like Murray and Hopper's lack of death was a bit obvious though.

I watched all three back to back over the past few weeks and all were excellent. 2 was the worst but it was still great TV. Loved the fun in 3.

It was the first HDR content I watched on mine and it kind of freaked me out. It took me a while to get over thinking 'maybe this is too good...?' because it didn't look like TV anymore.

But, yes, I really enjoyed it. The tone was spot on the story was fun and all the squads had good stories. Steve 4MVP.

The only real complaint is that they pulled 'OMG CERTAIN DEATH!/last second rescue' too many times, so it became a bit predictable but I did fully expect Murray to die, so we'll call it a draw.

About halfway through Stranger Things 3 and I'm enjoying but the 80s references feel quite inauthentic this time. Like before it captured the feel of a film from the era but now it's like an 80s themed party.

It's the EIGHTIES guys leg warmers and neon and shit!! Lol 80s!!!!

It's like the lead influence was a half remembered Back To The Future rather than Stephen King

I really enjoyed this season and the progression from the previous seasons.

I mean, adding Russians as the baddies was awesome.

I persevered and you were all right, after a three or so episodes it just got better and better. Really enjoyed it in the end.

The referencing was really lazy/overt in this series: like, rather than sort of homaging something to outright quoting from it (Jaws/Die Hard) and having the soundtrack to Day of the Dead and Midnight Run - endless Midnight Run! - scoring whole scenes.

I can understand that, I've had some months to get used to HDR so just fucking love it, the last episode had me grinning like a loon.
The scenes with El in the void really showed off those OLED blacks.

Same here, it’s the only way I can focus on watching things now. If I put anything I the TV I end up spending half the time fucking around on my phone and not paying attention

Being so addicted to phone fiddling that you can’t sit and enjoy tv/films without it, is a good thing?

I read a report recently from the states that said more than half of people are like that.

I find tv more immersive when I have the screen in my hand with headphones on, that’s all. It got nothing to do with being unable to sit and enjoy something, I just find many other things more engaging than staring at a screen in the corner of the room
