It just irritated me. Everyone was just shouting all the time and the obnoxiously loud soundtrack. It felt like someone screaming "IT'S THE 80'S IT'S THE 80'S IT'S THE 80'S IT'S THE 80'S" in my ear. I really couldn't face watching anymore of them.

I think you may just have been on your period.

Possibly, I was feeling kind of frumpy at the time.

Here's a question for you though, DO YOU REMEMBER SCRUNCHIES?! LOOK AT IT. LOOK AT THE SCRUNCHY. LOOK AT THE FUCKING SCRUNCHY. LOOK AT IT.

Yeah, it was definitely weird to see a series set in the mid-80s to have a load of 80s stuff in it.

It was just too heavy handed for me this time. It felt like an 80's parody like the Wedding Singer or something.

Finished it yesterday - decent but probably the worst of the three.

Joyce is practically unbearable now. It's a pretty mean feat that even after all the stuff that's happened to her, the character is that annoying that I feel no sympathy.

I actually liked Joyce in this.

I did find the kids annoying this time, though the friendship between Elle and Max was pretty good.

Yeah puberty has hit that kid like a freight train.

Yeah, I remember you alpha chads all held it together so well without acting like a prick when your telekinetic girlfriends dumped you while the Russians reopened the portal to another dimension

The kids didn't bother me tbh - they're teengagers/kids, they're supposed to be annoying and irrational.

Joyce and Hopper were nigh-on unbearable. Joyce's shtick of 'the CIA/Russians will listen to me over the phone because I get shouty and finish the rant with an apology' was tiresome.

Steve and Robin were easily the best thing about this season imo.

Also - what the fuck was the segment with Dustin's girlfriend singing about!? Felt like a parody.

It was the '80s. People did stupid things then. The show accurately represents that.

    Steve and Robin were great.

I think Joyce shouting over the phone makes sense if you consider what the CIA /agency know what she's seen. Not much more sense, but a bit more. She and Hopper are known to them already.

But yeah, it was a frothy season, but still quite tense and dramatic at times. And the different thread came together in a fairly satisfying fashion. Not essential but at least I had fun, which is more than I can say for Season 2, which was just unfocused and seemed to be set mostly in indistinct caves.

Yeah I'm not overly happy with that decision.

Both the decision to say fuck what little mystery there was, and the plot decision in general. It's just cheap.

I hope there's a scene where they sit down and watch Gremlins in its entirety.

And the soundtrack is the soundtrack from Gremlins.

    Remember Gremlins?

Bit late to this one, but only just got round to watching series 3. Two put me off a bit but it's a big upturn for me in quality. The only thing I found slightly annoying was the ramming down your throat of 80"s references. When it got to a point when they sing the entire theme runebto the never ending story while everyone else just looks embarrassed about the script is a particular highlight.

And looked at the posts above and didn't know Robin was uma Thurmans daughter. And that gif was very nice.

Once you realised I assume you noticed she looks just like her.
