0/2...Not even a chance. |
Considering I caught Groudon 1st time, twice. This is a bit silly.

2/3 here. Caught first and second pretty easily on release day. And the second was 97.8 IV's, so pressure well and truly off for a few weeks. I am however trying to help my friend get his, necessitating hurried lunch break meet ups.

It is a rubbish specimen but I am relieved to have caught one.
1/5, and its a wonder. Takes the pressure off a bit.
I was part of a group nearly 70 strong trying to trigger a Mewtwo raid in Kew Garden on Sunday. Managed to do three Kyogre raids (been on holiday so haven't raided in a week).
I'm 2/3. Neither of mine are top tier specimens - best one is about 80%. His side to side movements are truly annoying.
I'm also cursed to never be in the same location as an Absol raid. Ever. Every time I eye up a four star raid, it hatches and turns out to be a Nidoking or Victreebell or some other useless shit.
Worth mentioning Kyoghre is a shit to beat as well. I had to rely on reserve teams each times - and that was with 12-15 people in the team... Although that may be because it was bucketing down and he was weather boosted with Thunder.

caught one yesterday, last ball, shit throw, didn't even hit in the inner circle, was walking away defeated and it did it's third shake.
He's much easier to hit after the latest update. He's closer and the hit circle is bigger.
So I hear. I chose the right time to go on holiday.
My group has killed Kyogre with 5 people. We all healed our A team and put it back in and then had to switch to our B teams once the A team was killed a second time near the end.
@PazJohnMitch I've beaten it with six, had to use a B team though. How close were you to timeout with five?
@Jim_Dix 15 seconds
I've had it confirmed from my raid group that if you attempted to raid Kyogre in the first week and failed to catch him due to his ridiculous distance from the player, you can email Niantic and get your raid passes back. It may onl;y be if you used a premium raid pass though.
I think they might just have recreditted passes automatically. I thought I was down to 8 but last time I checked it said 10.
3/4 and still waiting on a decent one.
23 more pokemon being released tonight. Get Aggron it.
Kyogre raid near me in Central London and no one there to join the raid.
First time that's happened to me.
@Load_2.0 Apparently Lammas Park is hosting another EX Raid. Next week I think. (Passes went out yesterday).
Oh cool. I have only just started playing again. Missed a lot of the new releases.
Never done an EX raid either. Is there any way I can join or is it too late?
You need a EX Pass to participate in an EX Raid. These are handed out randomly to people who have raided in the gym hosting the EX Raid the week previous.
I have not had one.
It is possible to "trigger" an EX Raid - the method behind it is fairly complex for a big oaf like me so I'll share this post and then put it in my own stupid words:
Essentially, from what I understand there are gyms that are deemed Ex-Raid eligible, and these carry a tally of how many players have raided at them. For every player who completes a 1 star raid, 1 point is added to the tally. For every player who completes a 5 star raid, 5 points are added to the tally, and so forth.
If, in a given week, the tally hits a certain level (up for debate as to what this is, but estimates range from 500 to 850 points) an Ex raid will be activated and Ex Raid passes will be sent out at the end of the week.
So everyone who has raided at that gym in that time and contributed to the pool will get an Ex Raid Pass, right? Sadly no. It seems that the old RNG comes into play again. Regardless of how many points you add to the pot, there's only so many raid passes to hand out, and some players are likely not to receive one. So it's still a lottery.
My raid group focused on eligible gyms in Kew Gardens last weekend, and a lot of the players got Ex raid passes, proving the system does work. Naturally I didn't get one. Niantic doesn't like me.

Lairon and Whismur from the new lot so far.
FINALLY caught Kyogre! 1/6!
Have you all seen the egg event? All eggs you get now till it ends are all Gen 3? Pretty cool.
New Region exclusives too;
- Torkoal: Parts of Asia/Indian subcontinent, including India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and the United Arab Emirates
- Solrock: North America, South America, and Africa
- Lunatone: Europe, Asia, and Australia
- Relicanth: New Zealand, Fiji, Vanuatu, and New Caldonia
Of course I could be wrong and late, but I wasn't aware of these, so chances are someone else isn't either.
So far I have caught:
304. Aron (Pretty damn common for me?)
Got a weather boosted Kyogre today.
Only Aron, whismur and lunatone of the new batch so far.
Caught a 91% Kyogre over the weekend. Not weather boosted but it's the best one of the six I've caught so far. 15 Attack and Defence.
I've noticed weather plays an important part in what Gen 3 pokemon are available. Some only seem to come out under certain conditions. Here's what I've figured out so far:
Ralts: Only when cloudy or windy.
Lotad: Only in rain.
Treecko: Comes out in much greater number in sunshine.
Cacnea: Not seen him yet, but looks like he only comes out in sunshine/clear weather. Good luck finding him in the UK.
Trapinch: Just phenomenally rare. Pray for a hatch.
Feebas, Wailmer and Barboach: Appear in far greater numbers by rivers and canals.
Not sure about Lileep yet. I've got two Gen 3 eggs left to hatch so hoping for Trapinch. God knows how I'll get one otherwise, outside of a community event.

I have caught 1 lotad when it was not raining and not near to water. It is however much more common when you are near water and it is raining.
Pokemon Go reckoned yesterday was a clear day (hmmm) and I got inundated with Cacnea. Trying to put everything together:
Weather boosted pokemon: Weather boosts seem to rotate in the same way as pokemon migrate. The last time we had clear days, it was Treeko and Torchic that were abundant. Now it's Cacnea and some Baltoy - no signs of Treeko or Torchic outside of established nests this time. I've yet to see any Baltoy in cloudy weather, so it seems for the time being its ground typing is dominant over its psychic type.
Ralts: On balance, Ralts seems to appear in similar numbers regardless of the weather, with only and incremental increas in cloudy weather. I'd put it down as being this gen's version of Dratini. (On this note, Trapinch is the equivalent to Larvitar).
Lileep: Seems to spawn more on riversides, but not in great numbers. Haven't seen any weather boost to numbers yet.
