Didn't get out yesterday due to appalling weather and absence of Rayquaza raids. Today however I did an EX raid this morning (From the weird drop last week) and caught my third Mewtwo with slightly better IV's. Imay wait until a double candy event before transferring my 75% IV.|
Then waited for a level 5 to hatch only for it to be another bloody Kyogre. Crap IV's and a poorly timed shower of hail meant I didn't catch it and he's just dropped my catch rate down to 50% exactly. Sooner its gone the better.
Then had two level 5 raids hatch within half an hour. Both Rayquaza. First was a weather boosted 93% second was less than 82% and so went straight to the professor.
2/2 on Rayquaza

No Mewtwo or Ray for me -.-
0/2 for Ray...
The Valentine event is awful too.
1/1 for Ray and also improved my Ky ratio to 8/15
I love living at the beach!
I spent the day here with the dog and the following happened:
- Caught enough Wailmer to evolve into Wailord
- Caught enough Wingull to evolve into Pelipper (Despite never seeing one before!)
- Caught enough Surskit to evolve into Masquerain (Despite never seeing one before!)
- Caught enough Taillow to evolve into Swellow
- Caught 2 forms of Castform (Normal and Fire)
- Caught a fuck-ton of Swablu
- Caught 5x Lileep
- Caught 2x Anorith
- Caught a Sunrock
- Caught a region exclusive Illumise
- Caught more Nosepass, ready for Gen 4
- FINALLY evolved my Slakoth
- FINALLY evolved my Ralts
- Got the gold badge for Hoenn Pokemon caught
- Started walking my Feebas
- Evolved another Aron into Aggron (4 now)
1/1 on Rayquaza - and that was a god damned miracle.
Was running late and it was raining so we rushed through the raid. My screen got soaked which is never a good thing to happen. Just before the catch phase i tried in vain to dry my screen with my coat, which caused the app to crash. I restarted, thinking I'd probably missed my chance to catch Ray, but it let me straight back into the catch phase with 11 balls. at least 8 of which I missed because the wet screen refused to register any strength to my throws, leading to quite a bit of stress. I had resigned to my fate by the last ball, which somehow actually managed to hit the target, albeit without any bonus.
Frankly after all that I feel like it there and not try to catch anymore. Or at least wait until after the community day where I will hopefully improve my meagre bronze Dragon Tamer catch bonus.
Besides, I don't have any balls now as I've really been rinsing the Luvdisc for all the stardust they're worth.
My Rayquaza boycott didn't last long. I'm 2/2. Both critical catches, bizarrely enough. Wonder if I can build up a string of critical Rayquaza catches?
I didn't even bother with trying today. Meh.
I am 3/3 on Ray. All rubbish.
Honestly, the game can go suck a cat.
Despite trying my hardest to miss as many balls as possible, I'm somehow 3/3 on Ray, with the last one being a 93% catch (albeit without Outrage).
But enough about Raids, has anyone managed to track down Chimecho yet? Little buggers are super rare.
@RawShark While walking my dog I had a Bagon and a Chimeco spawn in the same street. Hit the Chimeco with a great throw, curved, ultra ball with raspberry. Broke out without even a shake and immediately ran.
Caught the Bagon. He was shit.
(I have since hatched a Chimeco from a 10km egg. He too, is shit. In the pokedex now though.)
@Jim_Dix Yikes. And you seem remarkably calm about that happening as well. I'd have probably dropkicked my phone into the next post code if it had happened to me.
Seen neither Chimeco of Bagon.
I did however hatch 2 Trapinch last week and have caught one Beldum.
Also evolved a Milotic. Looks like it is pretty strong but as I already have multiple Gyarados, Kyogre and Vaperon it seems pointless to level up.
0/4 Ray - its a tit wrinkle!
At this point, it's easier for me to list the Pokemon I'm missing.

Not missed anything yet but have not received a Mewtwo invite.
I'm up to 348, still have about 45 candies to go before I can evolve Vibrava. Haven't seen a 10K egg in a long time either.
Looking forward to this Saturday's community day. Heading into Kew Gardens - should be quite an event if anyone wants to come. I figure I need to catch at least 10 pinapped Dratini's to evolve my existing Dragonair into a Draco Meteor Dragonite, and I need about 16 to get the silver Dragon type medal. Gold might be a little optimistic.
Got soaked through on the last mass outing so hopefully weather will be drier. But wouldn't mind a wind weather boost all the same.
Its pissing down here, so Mudkips and Lotads a plenty. Got a spawn point it seems, right next door. Lucky.
Still no Ray for me.
4/4 on Ray now. Easily my best Legendary catch run.
Number 4 is also the first not to be complete ass at a respectable 84% IV.
I'm now 11/16 on Rayquaza. Which sounds boastful, but I have not caught anything better than the 93% I caught first. I only have four right now because I have thrown seven garbage ones to the professor. Need to check IV's on two and they will likely be going as well.
Once you get a regular group that is dedicated legendary raids get so much easier. Particularly one as easy as this. I've done a Rayquaza with as few as four. Our local group has a facebook messenger group chat and we now have a discord as well. Networking is the secret. Also having time free. I was off work last week.
Also, I'm on three Mewtwo now. 100% catch rate I've not missed one that I have received a pass for. Getting progressively better IV's. My first was shit and will be going to the professor as soon as we get another x2 candy event. Second was an 84% third is 89%.
The secret for Mewtwo again is networking. You need a group that will work together and put the work in to hit an eligible gym until it triggers an EX pass drop. Then keep doing so to get EX raids occurring regularly so more people in the group can get them. The main problem you'll find is that once a gym is known to be EX eligible you'll have folks travelling in to hit it and get themselves a chance at a pass and every raid at the gym will be attracting spoofers. The solution to the former is to be inclusive of newcomers but also share the information with them on how to trigger EX raids. The solution to the spoofers is private groups on the day for those attending in person.

Having an eligible gym in your area is the biggest issue.
The easiest to access for me is in Hyde Park which is more than a 30 minute walk from my office. (Too far for a trip at lunch).
Typical 5* Raids will fill at least 3 Raid groups instantly when it hatches. (Mainly spoofers).
It's just unfortunate that for me that I live, work and mostly raid in the middle of a deadzone.
There is at least one Kew Gardens gym that's a known eligible gym though. Last time we congregated there a lot of people got ex raid passes. Not me obviously, but I'me hoping for better luck second time around.
Streak's broken, I'm 4/5. And I was actually throwing decently for once.
All of my Rays have been caught with rubbish balls. Not just bad but ‘how did that even hit it?’ terrible,
Golden Razz, waiting till the perfect moment to throw and landing. Single shake, aaaand nope.
Going for 6th attempt now.
4/6. Yesterday was not my day.
Enjoy community day tomorrow. Remember to keep star pieces active, drop all your lures and catch dem dratini.
@RawShark I need 95 for my Dragon type gold medal.
@Jim_Dix I'm still rocking the bronze medal. It's amazing I caught any Rayquaza at all.
