A major sporting competition hasn't really started until problems with things not being ready in time are reported

“Thanks to economic and political crisis, this is not a time for national pride. It's like if you were ready to clean up your house and do some much-needed renovations, and all of a sudden you have all these guests who might see something you'd rather hide.”

They always are until they start - the Athens opening ceremony started with some workies coming on to finish building something IIRC :)

And London was slated until it started and everyone realised actually it was going quite well.

This one might be different though!

That logo though. Somehow managed to make a worsererer logo than London, the fuck even is it?

I think it's three people with the Zika virus.

    Not all of them.

Just the one's they're definitely 100% sure are baddies. They'll retest all the athletes but the detection window on good shit these days is so small you'd basically need to test them 365 times a year.

Or an enemy. He might have threatened to send Anatoly and the boys round if he didn't agree.

More than half of the buildings still to pass safety tests

The Australian team, which was due to be housed in building 23, is refusing to use the Athletes Village until leaks and other problems are resolved and the checks are done to its satisfaction.

Recently, it was the first team to conduct a full stress test of the plumbing system, which involved flushing all the toilets and running all the taps at the same time. The result was water running down the walls.

I love how this always happens. It's like a kid who keeps putting off doing his homework.

"We've got plenty of time, we'll build it tomorrow"

"They're moving in next week? What the fuck?!?"

Apart from all out civil war, it's hard to imagine what else they could fuck up.

It is, however, the least surprising thing in the world that it's turning into a shambles.

    Looks like a butt plug.

I didn't actually mind the London logo. Going for an angular, hard-edged design was a nice change from the softer-edged lines most Olympic logo's have been comprised of since the 90's

Once Sally Gunnell gets out and wins the 400h and Jonathan Edwards does some triple jumping it will all be fine.

Seems the most relevant place to put this. Bernie Ecclestone's Mother In Law (who's 20 years younger than him *shudder*) has been kidnapped in Brazil
