Is the V20 the new Moto X? I. e. a great bargain without too much fluff on top?

Latest Google Photos update says there will be features if you press the icon on the homescreen on Nougat. My colleague with a 6P and Nougat tried it and sweet fuck all happened.

The only plausible* conclusion is that the Pixel will have a pressure sensitive screen like the iPhone.

*isn't really the only plausible conclusion

It probably needs Android 7.1 which it sounds like the Pixels will be the first to get.

@THFourteen Actually there has been an API for "Force Touch" in Android since 1.0. Wasn't there a phone a few years ago that actually implemented it? I forget its name.

I don't think Google has quite got the hang of these events.

Opening with a looong section on machine learning isn't interesting to anyone.

So I was like, wow nice specs, great features, and there's even a 5 inches model... if they get the price right, it will be my next phone.

And then they announce iPhone-like prices. Starting at $649? lol, sorry, never before has my interest in something dropped so quickly.

Yeah, they really sold it to me. But the asking price is ridiculous. Im sure these features will find their way into other android phones some day anyway.

Was ready to put through a preorder today to get the Pixel. Then the price brought me crashing back down to earth. That is literally twice as expensive as the Nexus 5X, crazy price.

If it was the same price as the nexuses have been then I'd have been slightly tempted but $649? Nah.

So will that be 649 for the five inch version? Fuck. That.

Still in market for a new phone but want 5" otherwise tempted by the one plus 3.

Really don't get Google not announcing a launch date before taking preorders??

AKA Android is an established brand now and they don't need to subsidise hardware.

No SD card slot, no sale. Shame, as it looks an amazing phone, and I would be tempted, but I carry a lot of music with me.

Again, why would I preorder something with no hint of a release date?

The XL with 128GB is 819.

Exactly the same as the iphone equivalent; that would be fine but it doesn't have the image that Apple have to sell them in large numbers.
