I have two ps4 invites left for the beta if anyone wants them.

The game is "ok", but there's not much content and I can imagine it getting boring pretty quickly.

I quite like it, but again I don't know if it's worth the price tag if the focus is primarily on multiplayer. I'm curious about how much single player content there will be.

Sadly not, you have to use the website to add them to your list and go from there.

Add them to your uplay friends and do it from the link in your beta mail.

The samurai with the naginta is pretty awesome. Poke opponents to death from safe range :)

Just had a good hour or so on this and it's not a keeper.

The simple tutorial lets you think it is a tactical brawler...all positioning and counter-attacks. Guard positions are shown and the combat feels satisfying. "I can get into this" you think.

Then within a few games you will meet someone who does not "play the game" by not locking on to you until the very last moment. Boo hoo etc, but the entire system of block/counter is based upon the telegraphing involved when opponents have focused on each other. This is a pretty fundamental failure.

That's going to be the meta right there. For all the good work the devs have put into this, by the time beta is live, their whole concept of a tactical duelling/skirmish game has already been exploited. I'm sure some will love the randomness but unless they reinforce their concept it will just end up being another "find the best move and spam it" beat-em-up.

For how brutal it's supposed to be, it looks kinda bloodless. Like Ubisoft lacks the guts for guts. Impactful, its brutality is not.

New Bushido blade confirmed? :p (PS there really needs to be a new one)looking on YT that isn't the game I'm thinking off. it was a 1V1 sword fighter with 1 hit deaths any ideas?

Or if your old enough Conan on the spectrum beheading with a monkey kicking it away :p

I can get you a code, maybe. Reply to me with your uplay screen name - which should just be your psn/xbox/pc tag and I'll try and get you in.

@Hairy-Gorilla bushido blade was 1v1 with mostly 1 hit kills iirc.

And when you meet that person you lock on and kill them.

Grax kindly shared a code for this with me. I went through the tutorial bits and one of each 1v1, 2v2, and 4v4, games this morning. The system seems clever, but I can't see me buying it. In the 2v2 I hit a guy who was level 14 and he was switching his direction right before he attacked and seemed to know exactly when to use the guard break. 2v2 also doesn't work well because one person going down means the second is screwed, I don't see how you could win a 1v2 at all.

I think some people will get really into this and master it, and they could love it. For anyone else it might just be an exercise in frustration.
