Cool. Thought they'd pretty much given up with it to be honest.

Yeah some good stuff coming for VR. Haven't played No Man's Sky so will definitely be on that.

I haven't touched NMS after spending about three hours with it at launch, but this is a good excuse to try it again. I hear all the updates have actually made it a decent game now, too.

No idea how they plan to get it to run at 90fps when it barely does 30 on base consoles.

They only have to get it to 60 then they double it to 120 using a technique whose name I can't remember.

Reprojection... something. Asynchronous Reprojection..? That rings a bell.

Amazed they are getting No Man's Sky in VR, I wonder how compromised the visuals will have to be. Very excited by the news though!

Very excited about No Man's Sky in VR. Played it a couple of hours last year but was a bit choppy on the Pro. Good excuses to properly get in there.

I also, finally finished Moss. What a lovely game. Now onto Astro Bot.

That doesn't seem bad at all - and I am pretty sure a good PSVR game will sell to a comparatively high percentage of these.

@UncleLou Yeah I reckon the attach rate for VR is probably much higher than for normal consoles, based on what I've seen.

Bloody hell, Astro Bot Rescue Mission is brilliant. What a fantastic game.

Iíd kinda set myself the challenge of waiting until PSVR was back way under £200, but this is a good deal with all of this stuff bundled?

I don't think you'll have long to wait for a decent deal. With Sony's big push on VR titles they'd be insane not to drive another series of sales on the hardware.

I'm still on the fence if I want to buy PSVR again. I sold my gen 1 headset as I never used it due to the HDR passthrough problem.

Should they drop a sub 200 quid bundle I might be tempted.

Tbh, if you wait much longer I'd suggest just waiting for a refreshed headset anyway (I'm pretty sure Sony will do this... maybe not in time for ps5, though).

No Man's Sky sounds like it could be pretty great going from the frontpage. Good to hear the graphics downgrade isn't too bad.

While I'm not really into The Verge they had an article today that poses the theory that the PSVR push is the swan song for PS4 with development for smaller scoped games going to VR and main development shifted to PS5.

    Sound fair.

I'd really like to know just how visually compromised NMS is on PSVR. All previews appear to be on vive pros.

Yeah, I'm genuinely excited about this one, tbh. It's a perfect fit - even the graphic style lends itself well to a downgrade, I feel. It's not like it was ever aiming for realism.
Edit: I'm still a bit skeptical on how it's going to actually control in PSVR, mind.

The front page article briefly mentions it.

...it'll be interesting to see how it scales down when played on a base PlayStation 4 running PSVR. It's an experience we've had a small taste of - at a recent event, Eurogamer's VR expert played on a PS4 Pro and saw a visual downgrade from the base game when playing with a headset, but not sizeable enough to balance out the positives when playing in VR - and it highlights another facet of the Beyond update.

"That's one of the big changes that makes us want to ship all these updates together - we've had to focus a lot on optimisation really heavily," says Murray. "That means the base game will run a lot better as well - that's been a big thing for us. We've learnt lessons - I'm not going to say months before we ship exactly what frame-rate it'll be, what specs we'll be hitting! I can definitely say, when we release Beyond, it'll be an optimised game for everyone. If you look at our feedback and problems people have on PC, PS4, Xbox, that's a really big deal for everyone. We've kept adding and adding stuff, and it's a technically challenging game - it's creaking around the seams in places - and this has allowed us to double down and go through everything. VR is not a compromised version of the game
