Because that would cost money to develop and they already had a product they could use despite its limitations.

I expect proper upgrades to the wands next gen., now they know they have an audience they can grow.

The moves will be fine and Sony don't allow anything on there unless the framerate is 60 or above.

I'm expecting the resolution, draw distance and AA to be where it takes the hit. The fact that none of the previews I've read have played the PSVR version is concerning. It runs like shit in 2D so I'm expecting it to be heavily splodged.
There are previews for PSVR and the video you linked is from PSVR isnít it? Looked pretty good I thought although I could see the LOD changes

Sony have a peripheral with a stick- the original one that accompanied the PS3 moves. Annoying that isnít an option in games where, say you want traditional movement twinned with pointy pointy hand stuff.

@AaronTurner nah he says at the start he got to try it on the vive I think. If it looks as good as it does in that video I'll pop like 50 boners.

Sony already have a replacement for the move patented I believe, you wont see it until the ps5 though by the looks of it.

Is it basically a mash up of the move and the nav controller? Because that'd do.

I still haven't used the two moves I bought months ago. Partly because I haven't used the PSVR in months. That will change when the NMS patch lands though!

Iron Man is actually looking pretty great. Not on rails like I thought.

That's them Ror. There is no guarantee that they will ever use them as not everything that gets patented sees the light of day but they look a big upgrade on the moves.

La Noire coming to psvr. Wasn't a fan myself but lots of people liked it.

@Frogofdoom Nice, cheers. They look like being big upgrades over the current moves.

Sony have said the current PSVR will work with the PS5, right? I didn't just imagine that? If I can just pick up a PS5 and the new controllers at some point, that'd be nice.

It should do, as the games will.
I expect new hardware too tho. I bought my current set 2nd hand from a mate, so next gen I'll go all in.

    Yeah, good point.

I would probably upgrade at some point, but if the current headset works off the bat, it should hopefully mean I wouldn't have to for a while.

Yeah it's supposed to work. It will still have the same shitty resolution but the graphics quality should go through the roof.

    Uh oh

From Ian Highton: Played about 10 minutes of #NoMansSky in VR to test it out and it's very, very blurry. Anyone else getting that issue? Playing with a PS4 Pro and a 1st Gen PSVR headset.

    However

Despite the blurriness, leaving a planet for the first time in VR and looking out of your cockpit into the depths of space is a fricking incredible experience!

Supposed to look OK close up but terrible from around 10 metres out. Expected really.

Sounds a bit buggy, par for the course for such a large game changing update Iíd say. Hope the missus doesnít want to watch tv tonight. Might just stick on the headset anyway and annoy her enough until she leaves.

    @AaronTurner

You can play psvr without the tv. Win Win. Marital bliss.
