@AaronTurner It can be subjective. Some people thought Skyrim and DriveClub were fine too. Also note that I've not played No Man's Sky on a TV at all, so don't have a frame of reference to compare it too.
Could also be a bug of course!

Thatís mad, there has to be some kind of bug, there is no way people would be saying the blurriness isnít as bad as Skyrim or Drive Club if you saw what I saw.
Were you on a lush planet or was it fairly barren?

When I got round to Skyrim it was all patched up and looked quite good but that's on a PS4 Pro. The only game I can think of as blurry as NMS is DriveClub but that might be because it's the only other game I've played without a Pro patch.

You spend a fair bit of time looking at things close to you in NMS and the inventory is pretty sharp so it doesn't affect the experience quite as much.

Itís objectively more blurry than either of those titles for me, itís not even comparable.

I wasnít on a particularly lush planet, but there was snowfall, donít know if thatís an issue.

Is skyrim vr worth £20 in the sale? I've got the ps vr setup again due to looking at no mans sky. Its not as blurry as that though I hope!

    @Wavey

I'd pay £20 just to experience using your hands to set fire to everything. And the bow and arrow mechanism. And if you're out of your head, it's fucking beautiful in places + with the immersive music as well.

Skyrim is really good in VR. I prefer the DS4 for movement, but either way it's one of those worlds that is worth seeing in VR even just once.

The spells work better with the moves - give it a go
  • Deleted user 15 August 2019 23:17:51
Completely restarted the PS4 and itís improved somewhat. Itís still blurry but not what it was, I previously saw a circle around me where everything very blatantly blurred, I donít get that now.

Itís pretty great but Iím really wrestling with the controls and the moves are wonky as ever.

It may look like shit but fuck me it's magnificent. Really glad I haven't picked it up before now because discovering all this stuff for the first time in VR is amazing.

The controls are starting to click for me now, I think they work pretty great on foot. I've just been picking up the dual shock when I get into a vehicle. Made it to the first space station and could have quite happily stayed on it until the early hours.

Ugh I went back on. Always takes me ages to get to sleep if I've been playing VR too. Something about having information beamed directly into my eye sockets messes with my sleep gland.

It was fairly blurry for me, until I realised that the be lenses needed a bit of a clean as I haven't used it for a while. Was ok after that. Need to get used to the controls now.

Is it teleportation movement only? Again, I haven't even opened the menu to check the controls yet but could only find a teleportation button to move.

It's fucking great in vr though. Can see myself putting some hours in.

Yeah I turned all that comfort stuff off straight away. I did have a couple of twinges in my stomach when I was scudding about the place last night.

I also visited a couple of other planets last night and some look way worse than others. It actually seems like the more rich a place is the better it looks as there's more stuff closer to you. If it's barren then all you're looking at is the blurry pixelated stuff in the middle distance.

The tunnel vision thing when moving is pretty subtle so I kept that on, didnít have any nausea yesterday.

Cheers guys, I'll have a play about with the options when I next have a go. Was out of my head last night and just ended up falling into a cave

I'm preferring the teleport, seems it's a bit faster to get around. Its really useful for getting up steep slopes or across crevasses. Got it set to smooth turn tho.

Small control annoyance; having inverted look also inverts the flight stick. I guess that's correct in theory, but feels all kinds of weird.

Inverted look? In VR? How does that work?
  • Deleted user 16 August 2019 14:38:38
    For the cockpit controls.

So Skyrim was cool in VR. Looks much sharper than no mans sky on the pro. Again I wish the moves had control sticks but you were right, doing the magic in vr is awesome, the bow I am terrible at so that is not happening. Think i'll keep at it a bit.

Had a quick go earlier, first impressions not amazing, agree it's quite blurry, worse than Skyrim for me, probably the worst looking PSVR game I've got. I found it really hard to read the text as well, partly because it was a bit unclear but also because the design sometimes leads to overlays on overlays. The moves also did their best to spoil things as usual, pointing off in random directions.

Then I got to the ship though and went inside and just looked out into the sky watching the particles falling and things flying around; I have to admit there was something special about it. Didn't have time to repair the thing and take off but I really want go go back and get out there.

I've just discovered that I had uninstalled NMS at some point. Oops. Probably should have checked ahead of time! Will install it and let it patch overnight, then tomorrow BECOME A SPACEPERSON.

I keep trying to play No mans sky
but those crashes are driving me mad. I read to turn the online multiplayer off as that's supposed to be related to the issue... but I'm still getting them quite often losing me 30 minutes plus gameplay because im far away from a save trying to reach something.
