The screens fine imo, the next step up would be 4K and then we're back to the console not having enough power to do it justice. |

Registered 6 years agoI'm so on the fence about Beat Saber. I like rhythm games, but I'm not too hot at them. Is it a must?

Registered 14 years agoFinally getting around to clearing some of my VR backlog. Have completed both Headmaster and Moss. Both highly recommended.
The Headmaster story was surprisingly amusing with a Portal vibe which kept me going to the end (though trying to 3* the later levels is beyond my patience).
Moss is sublime. It's a really solid platformer with top quality presentation in its own right, but having it in VR really elevates the experience. Now I've completed it, I can move on to Astro Bot, which I've been holding off on till after Moss as by all accounts it pushes VR platformers to another level, and I was worried that playing Moss after AB might lessen the impact.

Registered 13 years agoThink I need to buy some replacement move controllers as the 2 I have keep losing themselves mid game or I have hands floating away.
But can I find anywhere that has stock? can I fuck. it's ridiculous how difficult they are to buy considering some games dont work without them.
Think Sony has really dropped the ball with these. -

Registered 5 years agoDo you use an external HDD? It's possibly interference from that (yeah, crazy, I know). Try disconnecting it when playing psvr. -

Registered 5 years agoAre PS Moves still hard to find in the UK? I've noticed some e-shops here in the Czech Republic are listing a bundle of Iron Man + 2 Moves for the equivalent of around £90. That suggests there might be more Move controllers hitting the market during May (when Iron Man is scheduled for release), if not sooner. -

Registered 16 years agoI got a PSVR for my birthday last week \o/
I'm very impressed with it so far - I've only really played the VR Playroom and a couple of things in VR Worlds, but it's great so far. I'm looking forward to properly playing Astrobot and Driveclub VR (I'm a total DC fan boy - so have paid over the odds for a new copy of DC VR). -

Registered 15 years agoI hope the existing psvr gets good support on ps5. The headset itself is really good -ps5 should provide a far clearer image with super sampling.
The real problem is the tracking solution ( mainly the controllers). I would hope some upgrade to the controls and tracking could be done without replacing the headset. Just seems a shame to be waiting for a psvr 2 when the potential of the existing one was never realised. -

Registered 11 years agoYeah, same here. I'd be quite happy to keep using my psvr with better controllers. The headset tracking works well and the image quality is good enough. The lack of decent control options is the thing that holds it back for me. -

Registered 16 years agoIf 35 years of playing videogames haven tought me anything it's the fact you're going to have to buy the same stuff for the new platform again. -

Registered 15 years agoId Imagine Sony will want to carry over that psvr install base though. Making it obsolete with a psvr2 would mean they have to start over again. -

Registered 14 years agoConsidering the Move controllers originally came out for PS3 in 2009 and, as far as I know, are exactly the same today, there must be a lot of room for new and improved tech in a new generation of VR controller. -

Registered 17 years agoI did some VR gaming this weekend: Bought (and finished) The Room VR: Dark Matters. If you've played any of the Room games on mobile, you know what to expect. They made it work well in VR (and some of the art is really quite nice), although I'd wager for the length the game is a tad expensive.
Then I did dug out Blood & Truth, which I'd bought in a sale but not yet played. That is certainly a spectacle and very good, but I found it surprisingly hard (I suck at aiming / shooting I guess — certainly without laser sights). I must've died 20-ish times during the campaign.
Next up I splurged for Beat Saber (and most DLC), seeing that my usual exercise of swimming is shut down due to PHYSICAL DISTANCING. I suck at that game as well, but I can see why it's so popular. I had to rearrange where I play for that (as I usually play seated in a bit of a tight corner), but it's well worth it! -

Sounds about right. Moves have been pretty hard to get hold of since PSVR launched. Which is fucking idiotic considering some games mandate them.

I don't really trust EG reviews anymore to be honest, but it certainly looks like an interesting world to be in.
