It's OK. I thought Farpoint was pretty dull, but others here liked it. I'd get Moves first honestly.

I downloaded NextVR (I had to do a search for it) last night and watched an old fight between Wilder and Washington. I was quite impressed.

I'm not a wrestling fan at all but that looked decent enough as well.

Hopefully VR sporting events become a real big thing.

Not sure about the football/NFL stuff.

Personally, I'd wait until the shootbang thing has a few more games in it's compatibility list. Last time I looked there weren't many, and some of them weren't even especially well done (seem to remember Doom getting a lot of complaints). Or, you know, there's a deal and you can get it cheap (in which case, point me at it).

NextVR is news to me, I'll check that out tonight.

I also get the "woah, back to reality" thing; VR is messing with your perception/brain/eyes/inner ear/fuck knows what else - I'd say it's to be expected (though as with motion sickness, some people will get it worse than others).

I still haven't fired up Arizona Sunshine, the zombie killing one and used the toilet gun with it - has anyone else tried that yet?

I find the control system utterly unintuitive on that game (moves), to the point where I just give up if any zombies get close. It always takes me three deaths to remember how the fuck to reload.

Anyone else get sent a “Why have you stopped playing VR?” survey?

No. Might have something to do with my not starting on the stopping playing VR though.

No, but then I played it the other day.

    :D

I'm the same with games I haven't played for a while.

Is Arizona a locomotion or teleportation jobbie? I know I could fire it up, but I'm at work :)

Arizona: you can set it to either, but I tend to leave it on teleport as f... ucking phone.

Full locomotive fucks me up on that one.

Cheapest I've seen it is £50. There's a kid at work got some old moves he's said I can have and I got the PSVR for free so I feel like I should be buying something.

Yeah. I took advantage of Sony's desperation in the mobile phone market and got a free one for pre-ordering their new phone. Just lucky with the timing really as I was due an upgrade.

Nice... I guess? No idea how good their new phone is so dunno what you've signed yourself up for...

I await your impressions on the shootbang thing.

    @Decks

You need to play headmaster and pretend you're Shearer.

It seems inevitable that there will be a new version of PSVR with PS5. (Higher resolution and possibly wireless).

I just hope the existing headset will be compatible too.

Don't think higher resolution is needed. If they can get the games looking like proper PS4 games with the PS5 the current headset will be more than good enough.

Ultimately I'd like a wireless version which I've no doubt will come in the future. With my setup and kids I had to pack it all away when finished and I got to the point where I couldn't be arsed setting it up. That and I soon got bored of the games which felt very tech demo like for the most part. That being said some are absolutely mind blowing when you first experience them and I'd argue it's worth it just for Batman, Rush of Blood, Resi 7 and Headmaster.

I know you're using the base model ps4. How do you find it for these games? When I had psvr I had a pro so never tried it on the base model. I hear plenty of people say games run a lot worse on the base model, but with it being the internet and hyperbole I never knew what to think.

Obviously I've got nothing to compare it to but it looks fine to me. I've watched a few comparison videos as it may have actually pushed me into getting a pro but there's barely any difference in the ones I've watched.

I was in a studio today that focus very much on VR games. I was chatting to one of the guys about games and mentioned that I was hoping Sony might announce something hardware related at E3. At which point he smiled broadly started nodding his head and said it's a secret but E3 is round the corner.

We're pretty sure the PS5 is a year or 2 away, a possible hardware revision for PSVR incoming ?
    VITA 2 FAM

(I'd be bit annoyed if it's VR2 too, though, fuck it, if it's enough of an upgrade, I'm in.)

Or it'll be a new controller that includes joysticks.

Which would also be annoying as I just spent £60 on Moves.

Tried quite a few now. Dirt Rally, Gran Turismo, Wipeout, Star Wars (the standout for me), Megaton Rain, the VR worlds stuff and a few of the other demos. I've got the peashooter and Farpoint coming tomorrow as well.

I really am quite impressed with it. I was a bit of a sceptic with the whole thing but there's a huge amount of potential with it. How simple and user friendly they've managed to make it was a surprise as well. Everything just works.
